The food tasted good, the chicken was fresh and I appreciated the atmosphere. My only complaint was when I ordered the taco salad, I had asked for shredded chicken and no avocado since I am allergic. The waitress brought the food out and Once she placed my plate down I saw there was avocado and grilled chicken. The chicken was no big deal because I didn't want to be too complicated but I did mention to her that I cannot have avocado ( I know people are only human and make mistakes so the first time was no big deal). She promptly takes my plate back to the kitchen and assures me that it's not a problem for them to make it again. Within 2 minutes she brought it back out and I mentioned to my husband that I was impressed with how fast they were making it again for me. I take one bite unknowingly that the food was in fact not made again but the avocado was scrapped or picked out and there was residual avocado on the sides of the tortilla. My husband had to step in and tell the waitress once again that I cannot have avocado due to my allergy. Fortunately I only had a small bit of chicken that didn't have anything on it.
I am only disappointed that it took me mentioning twice that I cannot have avocado. I don't want to assume but it felt like they were trying to pull a fast one on me. Especially since my husband and I were the only ones in the dining area. Just thought I should mention this so management can maybe remind people that no...
Read moreThe food was amazing. I ordered the steak fajitas with tortillas, my partner ordered two types of tacos and two types of tortas, and we got our little one the chicken quesadilla kids meal. Everything came out in a decent amount of time for being so busy and it tasted divine. My partner is Dominican and says it's the best place he's been to in Reno so far for authentic tastes.
The initial service was slow, as they only had one server at the time and he was also tending the bar and it was busy, but he was positive and upbeat. Due to his great attitude, it made the wait seem less bothersome. When he left, he made sure to let us know and who would be serving us next. She was his mother and absolutely from the interaction we had with her, it's easy to see where her son got his good attitude from.
The atmosphere lost a star because it's a little too crowded and small of a dining area and the one high chair we could find didn't have a working buckle. However they do have outdoor seating to make up for the loss of space inside the building, but we were unable to use it because the tables are too tall for the high chair. Some of their indoor chairs need to be replaced, as the part you sit in in some of them is broken/sagging.
Overall I'd say it was still a great experience because of the amazing food and great attitudes...
Read moreI've lived in reno coming on 10 years and Ive eaten at most places people can come up with on the top of their head. This by far is the best Mexican food in town. and my favorite restraunt in reno in general. I've come here for years and have never been dissapointed. its a family owned joint and they're all super friendly. They remember people and its super personal. It's the kind of place where you can walk in and get your "usual". The food tends to be more on the expensive end. And the alcohal is about the same as everywhere else though they're a bit more generous with their mixes. And the food itself is a large portion. Their burritos might be $10 but you'll leave with a qaurter of it. They're huge. And the ingredients are higher quality. You get what you pay for. Don't come looking for a dive bar. But you'll definitely have a good time. They've earned...
