Taqueria El Rancho — Restaurant in Rexburg

Quick service, affordable but let’s be honest, the only authenticity out of this place is the name, the red, white, and green color scheme and their sodas. The food was hot but bland, the rice was the color of Mexican rice but it also had zero flavor, beans were gritty and undercooked. What Mexican establishment serves nachos with cheese sauce? That’s what you find at sporting events. I don’t understand why people in this town think this place is great, are their tastebuds broken or is it locals just have zero experience with authentic Mexican food. If your looking for a bargain with fast service than this is the place for you. If you want authentic, you won’t find it here but then again, you won’t find any authentic Mexican food in Rexburg. My friend and I went in and the adorable 7-8 year old girl took our order. While we were up front still, the mom from the back came up and started slamming the door between the front and back repeatedly and very loud. She knocked off signs and multiple items. While she was doing this, she was screaming at the little girl to the point of tears. All RIGHT in front of us. We felt so bad for the girl. Mom didn't even acknowledge us. No apology, no consideration, just brushed us off. Another couple came in and the little girl had to wipe the tears from her eyes and take their order. Everyone was uncomfortable, everyone felt sorry for the kid. Very unprofessional and unnecessary to do 3 feet from customers.

My husband and I use to love this place and would actually go quite often because of the great prices and how amazing it is, but unfortunately we will not be going back. The last time we came we found out why it is probably so amazingly priced. While sitting and waiting for our food we were able to see them take someones plate who had already left and put the beans and rice that were lefrover on their plate back into their make line!! Absolutely disgusting and definitely an appetite ruiner. Not to mention during this same time we saw them grab lettuce and tomatos with their bare hands... This normally wouldn't bother me if what was being grabbed with bare hands was going to be cooked, but it was not....
