I WAITED AN HOUR FOR TWO BURRITOS. ... Decided to give Baqba a second chance. Tried them out about a few months ago, and the wait took SO long. But was craving a burrito and wanted to see if they've improved.
That was a mistake.🤦♂️ The line was at the end of the Poke place next door, and thought it was going to move a bit faster due to it being summertime. I was so wrong. It wasn't until I reached the gazebo that they had up for the shade that I noticed sun umbrellas for grabs and water in an ice chest. Which is appreciated, but it's not fixing a problem that they've had for months!
A lady asked the guy giving out samples how long it would take for her husband to get his order, and he told her about 30 minutes from the Mongolian place. His reasoning was that they have 3 online ordering sites that they create orders for, and that they're supposedly creating 100 + orders at the same time as the orders for the customers waiting in the heat.
Which didn't seem right to me. Seemed like an excuse. SO. I started tracking the amount of customer tortilla orders in front of me, and watching to see if the lady would make more than was asked for, from us irl customers. She didn't make any extra.
I also started a timer from the tortilla ordering area, and it took a total of 30 minutes from there to the counter! Which is wild!
Waiting 30 minutes for two burritos!! That's not even counting the extra 30 minutes waiting outside. ❌️ A total of 60 minutes!
I'm never coming back here again. Yes, the food is good, but I will 100% still go to chipotle, or any other mom and pop business here in Rialto, because I am for sure not waiting over 15 mintues at their competitors restaurants.
They also claim that they're "authentic Mexican food" that beats chipotle, but nope. Flavors are pretty comparable. Chipotle has better rice, and more moist shredded beef.
Save your time, and money. Go somewhere else. They only have a lot of followers on IG because they use food influencers to market them. Most foodies don't even tell the truth. They lie for views, money, and because who wants to hire an influencer that bashes a business...
Gave two stars because food was still good. But definitely not worth the wait. Using the excuse about having other customers online, and having customers that walk in wait, because of that is not good business. Get another kitchen, or figure...
Read moreI was excited to try this place from all the social media hype. It was clearly overrated just like most places on social media.
The actual location: The restaurant is tiny inside. They only have 3 tables that fit 4 chairs each and they're crammed together. The back of your chair is literally on someone else's back. The glass counters are way too high, the employees can't hear your order and you have to shout and they'll still ask you the same question multiple times. The AC was on full blast on a rainy day. It was colder inside than it was outside...on a cold rainy day.
The food: We ordered a mixture of different meats and items from the menu. The meats were all way too salty. The meats were all chopped up way too much. The meats were more like crumbs rather than actually slices or cubes. All the beef meats were cooked beyond well -done. The portions were great though. I'll admit.
The staff: Dry and salty like their meats. The only one who was an actual gem in this place was the young lady making the tortillas. They should make her the GM. She had excellent customer service, had the hardest job, the most stressful position and yet still took great care of everyone that came up. The rest were trash. Honestly. RBF, no personality, no smiles, not pleasant to deal with.
The service: They put everyone's food in a plastic bag even if you're dining in. They don't have trays. They smash your food into a bowl and lid even when you tell them "it's for here, not to go". If you're going to copy Chipotle, they copy the good stuff too. Don't just copy the 'idea'. Also one last thing. The meats spinning on the spots gets carved off before it's ready and they thrown on the grill to cook it so you're really not getting the actual meat you expect.
Overall I think it's too early for them to get everything right but I hope they're taking feedback from their customers. (Not the ones that get paid to be there and post on...
Read moreCame in today for the first time after seeing the hype on IG. There was a line out the door. Always a good sign. All other restaurants in the area looked pretty quiet.
Once inside, all employees were super friendly and welcoming. The food was fresh and had really good flavor and seasoning. Will definitely be back to try other meats in the burrito.
Now the not so good. The cook was putting fresh meat and veggies on top of meat and veggies that had already been in the serving table instead of letting it run out or swapping containers and putting the older meat and veggies on top. First in first out. One of the most important rules in restaurant. This could be why the Al carbon meat was a little dry.
One of the gentlemen working the line told me you were out of arrachera meat. He made it seem like you had ran out, instead of telling me it was being cooked and it would be a few mins. I would’ve gladly waited as that’s what I wanted to try. But the cashier was super cool and gave me a sample to take home once it was ready. Will definitely be my go to next time.
We also were not told about the $1.50 charge to get mixed meat and it’s not on the menu board. No big deal, but a heads up would’ve been nice. And the sirloin had a few pieces of grizzle. Maybe trim it a little better cause a coworker had the same issue but still told me to try this place out.
Overall our first visit was very good. The food was excellent with just very minor issues but this place is still fairly new and it was super busy. The staff was amazing. Keep up the great customer service! Most places nowadays don’t have that quality service anymore. Will definitely be back to try the arrachera. Thank you for a great...
