I didn't want to leave Dallas without trying a kolache! We can get them where I'm from, but I know they're kind of a Texas "thing" and I wanted to give them a go before we left the state for home. Luckily, this establishment was near our hotel!
We came early Sunday morning (shout out for being open fairly early on a Sunday!) and grabbed several flavors to try. They have sweet and savory options, and breakfast and lunch oriented kolaches too. We got the cream cheese, sausage, egg, and cheese, bacon, egg, and cheese, and potato, egg, and cheese for breakfast. The service was pleasant enough and got our order out quickly; plus, the price was right at under $15 including a drink we grabbed from the cooler. They had peppy pop music playing from the speakers and there was enough seating for us to sit down and munch before hitting the road.
One small point of frustration is it's a little hard to tell the savory kolaches apart, at least the way ours were served. My dad got about 3 bites into my potato, egg, and cheese before realizing it was supposed to be mine. There's also not a ton of meat in the ones that have meat (bacon and sausage) which further complicates trying to differentiate them.
That aside, we enjoyed the super soft and pillowy bread. The eggs inside were cooked nicely and the potatoes were faintly spicy. These were a filling and fairly cheap breakfast that carried us all the way to mid-Arkansas, so can't be too mad about that. Thanks for satisfying...

Read moreI stopped in today to check out Kolache Factory. The customer service was amazingly patient with me, as I picked out breakfast and lunch for myself and husband. The true way to test is to get a little of each. So sweet and savory, breakfast and lunch, for two people at $19. The price point was good. The food was really good and the savory side comes really close to memories of the street vendors in Denmark (Try the Hot Polish). Maybe a warning should go with the strudel, as I wanted to make a rum sauce for the apple and relive my childhood, while my husband wants to send me back for more Black Forest. Yes, the sweet kolaches were delicious & so were the traditional breakfast kolaches, but the bacon & egg breakfast kolache was incredible. Tried traditional and not so much, but all were excellent. 2 sweet kolaches, bacon & egg kolache, breakfast sausage kolache, 2 polish sausage kolaches, & 2...
