The first time I ever went I was impressed even though it was expensive. However, I told friends about the place and told them they should try it. We invited them over to eat and we ordered food over the phone. My husband went to pick up the food 20 minutes later and was told the food was not ready. He sat down to wait. It had been almost a WHOLE HOUR since we had made the order. When my husband asked why the food was taking so long, they apologized because the food had been sitting there the whole time and they had a miscommunication. So when my husband asked if the the food would be cold, they said it would be fine because it was "fresh". When my husband gets back and we eat with my friends, the fries were cold, and all the chicken and sandwiches still had heat but felt more like room temperature. In my book that's COLD. I call to complain and said I was frustrated because we paid $67 for COLD FOOD. I am upset because we are promised fresh food. If my food was made an hour prior, it is not FRESH. WHEN I called all they could say was "The fried should be cold but not the rest of the food". They didn't care. I am upset for paying so much money and now my friends were also disappointed because they were expecting good things about this place. I called to complain expecting at least an apology and maybe even s refund on at least the fries since they admitted this we were cold when they gave it to us. But nothing. Just a bunch of excuses. Very frustrated...
Read moreTl;dr: friendly staff, passable dining space, worst chicken tenders ever to overpay for, but they gave me extras fries?
They say you canât go out and have a good time without spending less than $20. Superchix puts a lot of effort into proving this wrong. For four tenders and a âregularâ order of fries you can expect to pay just shy of that amount. You will notice that I did not include a drink in that price. Now granted I got way more fries than I bargained for which is nice, but failed to distract me from the, at best, mid chicken tenders that were served to me. Maybe this place had better chicken when it opened but what I choked down was some of the most overcooked and thirsty chicken tenders that have passed my dry cracked lips. Fries werenât great either. Good sauce selection though. Staff was friendly and speedy service with a passable dining space that was clean except they store their extra peanut oil on the dining floor? I dont think Iâve got any reason to suggest dining here unless you are one of those people that think that overpaying for stuff makes that stuff more valuable. I didnât try their frozen custard or desserts so i might return to sample them but...
Read moreThe other night we were swinging through Riverdale on our way home and decided to stop somewhere for a bite to eat. Typically I donât like stopping at any of the chicken fast food type places. For me itâs too much breading, the chicken is too dry, etc. I have tried them but Iâm not that desperate to eat something. However this time wifey says to me, âLook, if we donât like it then we will just go elsewhere but at least we will know.â So I gave in and we went. I was not disappointed! The chicken (grilled or breaded) was actually very good in flavor and texture. They had been opened about a week when we stopped in. We had a chance to speak with the owner and he explained their chicken is fresh and never frozen. They have multiple options for sandwiches and salads along with sauces. Their custard is some of the best around. We tried the Dutch chocolate and took home some mint Oreo and Reeseâs custard and all of them were worth having again. Once we go to a new eatery our first question to one another is, âWould you go there again?â ⌠We both said yes! Iâm looking forward to going again, itâs worth the trip and for me itâs the only chicken...
