I'm going to start with the very typical I dont write a ton of reviews. I get EVERY restaurant has a bad day. That being said your location has been a consistent train wreck for years and at this point you make me feel obligated to warn others not to waste their money. I have live in Riverdale for 7 years and given this restaurant chance after chance to get it RIGHT with utter failure at every turn from you.
Bad visit one! There was a hair in my wife's food. My eggs were cold. Literally pointed it out to the waitress and left because you cant give heated eggs or safe uncontaminated food.
Literally didnt give you a shot for a year...
Bad visit 2! Come in with wife and kids. Standing at front for over 10 minutes with no other customers in the restaurant and your staff saw us and apparently decided they didnt want to work and ignored us until we left. Waited another 2 years to give you a shot...
Bad visit 4! Dejavue no one willing to serve us. Had to leave.
Bad visit number 5! I come in with my kids. Your waiter was pretty nice to my kids and we actually got seated this time. You all took so long my kids 7 and 8 stopped and asked where their food was because they were hungry and I kid you not... I timed it and 40 minutes went by while your not busy and plenty of staff to operate correctly! Your waiter brings me applesauce to tie my kids over for their food wait when you finally bring our food you brought half of my order and I had to wait for the French toast another 5 minutes after you brought over my luke warm hashbrowns and eggs that got colder while I waited for the main plate of French toast.
I still tipped the waiter because he was nice enough but typically I would not reward wait staff for restaurants mistakes.
EVERYONE STAY AWAY. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS AND THEY DONT CARE TO FIX IT! Dont apply here because you'll never get tips with such pathetic operations standards! It's not that hard. You literally have thousands of restaurants that operate successfully you can mimicking not including your competitor restaurants. Close this restaurant down. You are a failure!
I even cleaned my own table because the only bus boy I saw was a 60 year old senior citizen who probably desperately...
Read moreIt started off pretty bad. There did not seem to be a host to seat you. I stood at the front for a good 3 minutes while the servers would just look up at me and go back to what they were doing. It seems like it was a very new crew today. I was sat by the kitchen by my waitress who was new and overwhelmed. She was learning the tablet and it took a moment to get the drink order in. Once she found what we wanted on the tablet and put the order in, she came back for our food order and it was the same thing. I have no blame on her after I saw how the manager was treating the team. She would bark orders to them, she herself was way way overwhelmed, and she might be a new manager. The time when we got our order placed to when it came to the table was about 20-30 minutes. I was not super impressed at all. The French toast was very under cooked, the order was incorrect but I was not about to wait for a replacement to be cooked. While I was eating my food, I observed the servers grabbing food from the hot shelf that had fallen off plates and ate it. Towards the end, the manager took an eggs Benedict that was cooked, supposedly extra from how she was acting, and placed it on the table next to the kitchen and started eating it. I was very disappointed in what happened. The only reason it is getting two stars is the server was very nice and apologetic about being new. It was her first day on the floor and you could tell she was just throwing to the wolves. I felt very bad for her.
Update: Just when you didn't think things could get worse here, they sure have. The whole time we were here, none of the tables got cleaned. You could tell the hostess was getting frustrated about it as she was running out of tables to use. We were seated pretty quickly this time so that was an improvement. The waitress took about 5 to 10 minutes to even great us after being seated. The kitchen staff seems more put together than last time. The manager was still very barky and demanding. Everything else was probably about the same.
Update: I am happy to report this seems to be better now. We came in, were immediately greeted. The food was a ton better. Everything seems to have been...
Read moreHostess stated 15 to 20 minute wait. It was about a 40 minute wait. Once seated we saw no server for over 10 minutes. Decided to look up the reviews on this place at that point. There's a guy who got a bug leg (cricket or roach maybe?) on his plate - pictures he took are below. Once the waiter did come to the table in the midst of my review reading, we decided to go. The server was rather short and quick with her professional way to say goodbye offering no apologies for the bad service that we received during our visit. (Bug leg guy also experienced no apology for his experience.)
My personal conclusion is that management is lacking in the sense of customer service being a focal point. My reasons for this are based upon three things. One, the hostess was unable to give an honest and accurate time estimate for our wait to be seated. In fact, there were 2 parties who were waiting that left prior to my family being seated who obviously left because they were misled about the wait. Two, the server assigned to our table was no where to be seen, and then was rude once they saw we were unhappy and planning to leave (the lack of apology, and snappy dismissal). Last but not least, the review of the bug leg that was found in the food, and the excuses the waiter made to that individual - again no apology from the staff. Bugs being found in food usually has to do with a dirty kitchen that is not properly kept. Management that denies such claims despite photographic evidence is not management that I would trust to actually fix the issues that caused the bug leg to be in food in the first place. My own experience seems to reflect that changes need to be made in this IHOP establishment. I rather enjoy IHOP, but not this location. My family was looking forward to eating here until we got here and things fell apart for us to have a positive experience. As an avid reviewer, I usually read reviews before I visit places, I sure wish I...
