Update: Lazyboy gave us our money back, in store credit to replace the broken chair. We have had no issues with the new chair.
Update: 3 months later and no repairs… they sent another repair person out who couldn’t fix it and ordered more parts and rescheduled.
We purchased a customized recliner from the Riverdale location. It was delivered and we noticed the chair leaned to the right and squeaked. We called and they sent someone to repair it, after several attempts and a long wait someone came out to look, he ordered some parts for the base and they were delivered he came out to fix it. That did not fix the problem and the repair person said it was the back so he ordered a new back and said he would call or have someone call to come out again when the parts were delivered. No one ever called so my husband had to call, sat on hold for over an hour, to schedule another repair person to come out. This still did not fix the problem and he said he thought it had something to do with the frame and he said someone would reach out to us again and if he had to come out again then he would have the whole chair replaced. Again, no one came contacted us again.. A few months later we still had not heard from anyone so we went into the Riverdale location. The sales person said his manager wasn’t there and he would pass out information along and have him call the next day. He wrote our information down on a post it and said he would put it on his desk where he would not miss it. Again, we heard nothing. So, my husband tried to call a few more times but sat on hold for 2+ hours and had to hang up. He finally got a hold of someone yesterday, she read all of the repair person’s notes to us and told us it was out of warranty at this point so there was nothing she could do. He explained that we have been trying to get this fixed since it was delivered. She said she would “see what she could do and would call back today.” Yet, again, we have heard nothing. We have been long time customers of Lazy-Boy and have purchased several chairs and a couch. This experience has been absolutely terrible we will not be doing business with them again. And I will be sure to share our experience with as many people who...
Read moreWe purchased a custom chair ftom this La-Z-Boy store at their St Patrick's day sale on March 16, 2021. The furniture was already marked down and the sale was an additional 30% off. THE SALE WAS A HUGE SCAM!! Please read on...
It was for my husband who has cancer and was having a stem cell transplant the next day. We knew it would take some time They originally told us 4-6 months. With covid, everything is slow and we understood that. The time passed and every few months I received a notice that the chair was in production. Then 6 months passed, 7, 8.....at 9 months I call and find out that it was sitting in a warehouse and the store hadn't requested it be sent to them. They requested it that day and said it would be there in 7-10 days. They would call as soon as it arrived. Three weeks later I call to see if there had been a problem...no...it had been sitting in their back area for 2 weeks. No call to me.
Poor customer service, yes, but the real scam part came next.
We like the chair so much we decide to get one exactly like it for me. This time we order it from a local store in Idaho Falls (where we live) that carries La-Z-Boy. I ordered from the paper work on the first chair. They are exactly the same. There was NO SALE. I paid full price for it and it was almost $800.00 cheaper. That's almost half the cost of the 2nd chair and almost exactly what was written off as the sale price from the Riverdale store. It looks like it's marked up the write off and 30% holiday sale amounts. So in the end you feel like you got a deal but you paid full price. Yup..SCAM.
So, go to the Riverdale store to try out the furniture and to be sure which style and such that you want but DON'T BUY FROM THEM! You live and learn. Learn from...
Read moreI bought two recliners that are also lift. My husband has recently had some really bad knee surgeries and a bad infection and he needs to keep his leg elevated all the time and he can't with these chairs because the foot part doesn't stick out long enough so it hits him about mid calf. I called 5 days after I bought them and told them that I wanted to return one of them only. And that I could use the other one. All she said was sorry you've only got three days to do a return. The second one was being built and wasn't going to be here for 6 weeks. I said can't you cancel the one that's being built she says oh no they've already started on it. Which I doubt! Because it's already been 8 weeks and we haven't received it yet. So I called customer service Lazy Boy and told them the situation and they said that they would relay the message to the store manager. That's been at least a couple weeks ago and I've never heard back from him. Instead last week I get a message from lazy boy saying they want to deliver the other one. So in other words the customer service is really horrible! I will never do business with them again. To top it off my niece just bought her mother a recliner from Lazy Boy in Vegas and her mother died a week later. And it had only been at their house 2 days and they still refused to return it. I think they should take certain circumstances into mind before they make decisions like that because again that is poor...
