Baan Thai Cuisine in Riverton is a visually stunning restaurant with a bright, open aesthetic that creates a welcoming atmosphere. The ambiance definitely sets the stage for a great dining experience.

We started with a few appetizers, including the egg rolls and coconut shrimp. Both were decent—nothing particularly special but enjoyable. For entrees, we ordered the drunken noodles, Pad Thai, coconut curry, and fried rice with fried chicken.

The drunken noodles had great flavor and ended up being our favorite dish, though the vegetables had a bit of an off taste. The Pad Thai was solid but unremarkable—definitely not the best in the valley. The coconut curry had good flavor, but the chicken was rubbery and not the best quality. If we were to return, we’d avoid the chicken altogether. Unfortunately, the fried rice with fried chicken was a complete miss—the rice was overly sweet, which was unexpected, and we barely ate any of it.

To end on a high note, we tried the mango sticky rice, which was absolutely delicious and easily the best item we had.

Service-wise, the experience was great. The staff was attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. However, the biggest downside was the price. Our total came to $140, which felt steep for the quality of food we received. Given that, I can’t see myself returning. Amazing flavor in each of the dishes we tried! Subbing out the green curry with yellow for the curry dumplings app was 100% the right move. My husband loved the cashew nut wok—the mushrooms were especially good. My Panang curry had a delicious spice that didn’t mask the other flavors.

The servers also did a great job accommodating our 18 month old daughter.

Main room for improvement is in their rice serving size. Even though both of us typically have a small rice to entree ratio, we both found the rice to be not nearly enough and when we asked for more, we were charged for it.

The seating is also quite close together so they should space people out when it’s not at full capacity instead of slotting people right next to full tables when there are plenty...
