This past weekend, we rented out Ernie’s on the Creek’s outdoor space to host my Mom’s 60th birthday party. These were the things we wanted:
Stress-free set up and takedown Clean space Privacy Open floor plan and a designated space for cakes and gifts Our own music Delicious Food Food and Drink Service Kind Hospitality
Zack (manager) and the entire wait staff went above and beyond to make my Mom’s party seamless from start to finish. He invited us to come in early to decorate with our own decorations and provided us with support in moving tables to fit our ideal seating arrangements. I had made a special playlist, and he allowed us to play it all throughout the party which really set the vibe. Appetizers were put out immediately so guests had something to snack on when they arrived. Their hummus by the way… some of the best I’ve ever had (and being from Sterling Heights, I’ve had a LOT of hummus in my lifetime). They were also very accommodating to any dietary restrictions, as we had multiple vegan guests (myself included). The main course is served buffet style, and plates and silverware were already set at the table. Everyone LOVED their meal, and us vegans were hand-delivered a special dish of vegetable skewers to enjoy with their pita and hummus.
The fire-pits with couches outside allowed for more socialization outside of the set table assignments. This gave everyone at the party a chance to meet others and get comfortable after a delicious meal.
We got lucky with perfect weather, but the covered patio made such a difference with the direct sunlight and wind breezing though. Plus, being right off the creek, any kids at the party were able to go off with their parents and explore - giving them something fun to do!
Overall, we couldn’t recommend Ernie’s on the Creek more for any special occasion you’re hosting. Food, atmosphere, hospitality - 10/10. My Mom was beyond happy with how her party went, and to me, that’s all we can ask for!
Thank you Zack for your support in making this party such a beautiful and stress-free event!
PS: If you’re inquiring about an event, I highly recommend going into the restaurant to dine as a guest and letting the staff know you’re wanting to host an event. They’re very helpful in guiding you through the menu and suggesting dishes to try that you can serve to...
Read moreI dined with a friend at "Ernie's on the Creek" this past Wednesday.
Food - I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki (chicken shish kabob). For $28 I think that it should include a vegetable and not just orzo (or at least include either a side salad or bowl of soup with the meal). Also, at that price point I would expect a full piece of pita bread, not just half of a pita bread cut into 2 pieces. At least ask the customer if they want half or full if you are worried about waste. I always take home my leftovers. I did find the food to be flavorful and I enjoyed it. Overall, I think that the menu is priced too high for most of the items. For instance $9 for a bowl soup is not reasonable. My food was flavorful, but the price point is wrong for a chicken shish-ka-bob and I probably wouldn't order it again at that price. I don't mind the limited menu, but I feel that the pricing could be improved. I'd hate to see people not visit this restaurant due to the prices only. I have to give the food a 3 based upon the limited menu and prices. However, it's more like a 4/5 for quality and taste.
Service - Our server was great. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and very helpful and friendly. I cannot remember his name but we were very happy with him. He deserves a 5.
Atmosphere - the restaurant is nicely decorated and the owners did an amazing job gutting the former run down bar/grill that it used to be. We arrived at 5pm and were the only people in the dining area for the first 30-40 minutes (it did get quite busy as time went on) and the music was on so loudly that I had to yell across the table. We asked the server if it could be turned down just a little bit and he accommodated us which is also part of the reason that I give him a 5. Atmosphere is between a 4-5.

Read moreWhat started an extremely unpleasant & disappointing service w the condescending host (called 30 mins prior to confirm there would be seating & no reservation was needed, gave time frame arrival & was told it was good. Arrived at said time & was told by host that “things change” and that are completely booked for the whole night) BUT after asking for management, Zack has made me a regular patron of this place! After apologizing & swiftly seating us, we were treated w the upmost best service I’ve ever received in Rochester. Zack went above & beyond. I truly cannot express how truly quaint & polite he was. The food was PHENOMENAL. We got appetizers - the trio dip(10/10) the octopus (12/10 🤤) & the flordia grouper & steak chevapi for entrees. Everything was cooked properly. The fish and steak were so tender. They were literally melting in my mouth. We had a side of the lemon potatoes & MY GOD they really made sure every potato was cooked to perfection. we can’t wait to return. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious fresh meal that comes with amazing service. Zack needs a raise! Thank you Zack & Ernie’s for making this a memorable night. My water cup was never even close to empty, can’t wait to...
