I had been hearing rave reviews about Crust & Crumbles and was finally able to give it a visit. Opening the door you are immediately welcomed by the scent of fresh baked goods. The white subway like floor tile fits the quaint shop. The menu is listed on a brown paper bag which pulls you in to read everything they offer. The choices are endless: scones, croissants, sourdough bread, fruit filled patries... I finally decided on the vanilla scone and I was not disappointed. It was scrumptious! The icing was creamy and melted in my mouth. The scone itself was crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside with a touch of sweetness. I would highly recommend! I almost wish I would have visited on an empty stomach so i could have tried the almond croissant. Next time for sure!
I dont know about you but coffee on a chilly day would pair nice with the scone. They had a decaf and two other roasts. I ordered the medium roast and it was luke warm and tasted like it had been sitting in the pot all morning long. The service was not spectacular not that I was expecting it but I feel that employees should greet customers as they walk in and engage with them especially if they are the only ones in the shop.
I would not skip over this sweet shop as the smell of baked goods is about as wonderful as the smell of a fresh bathed baby. I would just recommend stopping at Starbucks or Dunkin for...
Read moreI had been there before and really enjoyed the white sourdough bread and pastries. So my wife and I decided to drive the 40 miles back to to get some more of the same. My suggestion would be do not go there if it's close to closing time. The attendant was more focused on what was going on outside then what we were ordering. I asked for a loaf of the white bread and we picked out some pastries. When we got home and cut into the bread we found there was no white about it it was some kind of wheat bread rye bread or other dark bread. My advice to the very creative owner is to be sure to train your employees and have a way of monitoring their performance and make sure they have more customer focus. I won't be back...
Read moreI've ordered twice now from Crust and Crumbles for work meetings. They do not disappoint and the product is a lot nicer than say, bringing donuts from a national chain, with people happily impressed.
Each time I've ordered, it has been over the phone and staff have been great, explaining the products and being patient while I'm in a hurry and multitasking.
On pickup, the shop looks clean and attractive, people are happy, and there is typically a small line (which is rapidly served.) The only negative there is that later in the day their selection may be limited due to sales.
Everything I've tasted has been great and the prices are reasonable. They have become my go-to pastry place in...
