Tom & Jerry's — Restaurant in Rockford Township

app didn't show me the location address before asking for a review. The funnel fries are my absolute favorite (at all 3 Tom & Jerry's locations).

The store looks fantastic but statues are very dusty. The female employee that took our orders did not smile ONCE, making interaction very awkward. Same employee was emptying trash.....completely removed trash can from it's covered cabinet. I didn't know she'd removed it and took it away completely because the cabinet was closed. I dumped a tray (kind of a messy one) in & then realized she'd removed the trash can. She returned with the trash can & apologized that I'd dumped my tray in the cabinet, not realizing there was no trashcan inside (at least one other customer had thrown trash in too while employee was gone with trash can). She seemed annoyed, but cleaned it up & replaced trash can. I don't understand why she didn't leave it open so people could see that there was no trash can in there!!! So I felt bad. It was the same employee from the counter that wasn't smiling or anything (also spoke so fast & mumbled that I had to ask her to repeat herself...... still, I couldn't understand her!!! No accent or anything, just terrible at speaking i guess).... that employee made for multiple awkward interactions & I hope i don't get her again when I go back. Slow down, speak louder, clearer, and enunciate! And at least smile and pretend to like your job! Maybe she was having a bad day, but jeesh.....definitely impacted guest experiences! Such a bright, happy looking...

A Fun Stop!

On our trip home (07/05/24) we randomly found Tom & Jerry's and the kids couldn't have enjoyed it more.

-Atmosphere- Tom & Jerrys (at least this one) is a superhero themed restaurant. They have tons of full life figures in booths, standing, and on the wall. The kids enjoyed calling out who was who and pointing them all out. Also, a wee bit afraid of the Joker, which is understandable. Definitely may it fun just to be there while we ate.

-Food- They have tons of food options, and reasonably priced. The kids had hamburger and grilled cheese and they tasted great. Kids went to town on their food. Me and the wife split the "regular" gyro and got a side of mini tacos. The gyro was huge - crazy amount of meat. Wish they would have spread out the sauce a little bit more, but beyond that, it was great. The mini tacos were, eh. They are just deepfried mini-tacos, you have seen them before, so did I, they didn't hit the spot like I thought they would, maybe cause I was stuffed from the huge gyro, who knows.

-Service- At the counter, I spoke with Craig to let him know it was our first time, and he was super friendly about walking is through a couple options. Of course after we got the food, he stopped by and made sure we were happy, and was definitely a great addition to the food and ambience.

Definitely would stop by again if we are ever...

Unfortunately, this restaurant missed the mark on all occasions. 1st experience: Went with my family and they messed up my mom’s food and completely forgot my sister’s lunch. The employee training the cashier stated it was my mom’s fault because she ordered wrong. The trainee recited the entire order back correctly before payment, but we still ended up with an incorrect food item and a missing food order on the ticket. They gave us 6 chocolate cookies for the mishap, though! 2nd experience: Decided to give them another chance. However, my mom and I waited 25 minutes in the parking spot for our drive-thru order. Ended up pulling back around into the drive-thru and leaving with a refund. 3rd experience: My friend wanted to go here for dinner - he had never been. I explained to him my 2 prior experiences, but he wanted to have an experience for himself - understandable. Needless to say, we ended up having to drive back to the restaurant because there were 2 staples in our fries, and 2 staples on his burger. He didn’t even attempt to eat his food.

I gave an additional star because the chocolate chip cookies were really good!

In the end, 3rd times a charm did not play out for me, and it only took 1 mishap for him. We won’t be back there,...
