Panera Bread — Restaurant in Rome

I had never ben in Panera Bread but I have ben hearing how Great everything is, so I was meeting a New lady Friend of mine and I asked her if she would like to meet at Panera Bread and she said that would be great because she had not ben to this place as of yet.

When we walked in it was kind of confusing as to where you go to in order to place your order for what you want, They had two Girls working behind the counter one on the Left end and the other way down on the Right end where the drinks are,

I had a couple of people walk in behind us and where do you go to and all I could say is stand in this line with us and we will find out, The line was getting longer and longer and when we made it to the girl behind the counter she walked away for a bit and came back and said what can I get for you ?????

I told her we was looking just to have something Cold to drink and I ask her what was the best Cold Drink they have and she said the Lemonade, I told her we would have a Large each, I paid her and she then told us we would have to walk to the other counter to get our drinks and I said ok thank you with no reply from her.

We walked to the other counter and I ask the girl working it if this was fresh made and she said we make out Lemonade fresh every morning and I told her that is great because I love fresh.

We took our drink to a table outside to sit in the breeze and sun and when we both tasted our drinks it was so bad we came close to spitting it all over the people around us, I think they may have used the water from the TOILET it was so bad.

I can only give a rating on the Lemonade because I have not had any of the food but from the Prices I saw I will not be eating at this place, I will have to give it the lowest star I can just on the Drink until I go back that is if I ever go back and try the food. Good luck with your...

Jan 14, 2019 updated review: came in today with wife at 2:30. I ordered the roasted Turkey and avocado BLT which is what I normally have, and every time i get it it comes with ciabatta bread, today it came with wheat bread. I could have complained but i was hungry so I ate it, and it was not good; it tasted ok, but not even as good as an Arbys market fresh sandwich, and not even half the size, and more expensive... My wife got the onion soup bread bowl, which was just warm, really needs to be hotter.

We also got an extra side item, someone's hair, which we definitely didn't order (see attached pic).

Had to lower to 1 star because of the hair. I hate that they have gone downhill because I used to eat here once every couple weeks, but not anymore.

(Previous review from first visit) :First time ever at a Panera Bread, and I wasn't let down.

I tried the turkey and avocado BLT on chiabatta bread and it was delicious. Perfect amount of bacon, Turkey and they didn't skimp on the avocados like many places do.

One of the side choices was an apple which I chose, and they even sliced it up for me.

For dessert I got the blueberry scone, also delicious, which btw came free with my meal.

Had a nice cold Pellogrino water to drink.

Prices are a little high which is why I didn't give it a 5 star, even though I understand since everything is organic that's probably why.

Mykah took my order and helped me select off the menu, what a pretty and pleasant young lady she is, great customer service.

Will definitely return and...

UPDATE: I left my original review some time ago. I've returned for take out several additional times and dined in one other time since then. Management has stepped it up. Today while eating there at lunch, I asked if they'd changed their mac and cheese as my kids always love it, but when we'd come in several months prior, it didn't taste right. We didn't say anything at the time, but thought we'd found online where they'd possibly changed the recipe. In asking if my kids could taste test before buying two meals my kids wouldn't eat, the manager said she'd take care of the meal and apologized for a bad experience. I appreciated her effort to make things right, even though I didn't ask for a comped meal. Thank you for your redeeming my appreciation for your food and good customer service.

ORIGINAL: Visited at the end of the day... Only one person on a register while another individual must have been training and just observed. The eating area had been given little attention. We dined in and had to eat on plasticware and had picnic napkins. As I looked over the food prep area, it looked like no one had tried to clean up anything, all day. The food was ok; my soup was tepid. The bathroom had not been attended to in a while.
