I really wish I could give this location and David and Abby 10 stars! I don’t think I’ve ever been treated as well as they treated us! We had a party of 20 and planned a birthday celebration at Red Lobster in Rome (yes you read that right) after a 1 1/2 hr wait PAST our reservation time and telling them to separate us wait we called Outback. David said he could seat us in 30 minutes only because he had just sat a party of 21. We told him we would call back and Red Lobster said our table was ready nd being cleaned so we waited. After another 40 minute wait at Red Lobster - we called back to Outback to see if the table was still available assuming it was given away. David’s response - it’s waiting for you because I had a feeling you would be calling back. 🥰 We immediately head to Outback. We are sat as soon as we walk in the door. David comes over with two complimentary Bloomin’ Onions that he put down as soon as we told hi, we were coming because he knew we had to be hungry and he was sorry for what we had experienced. He sent over Abby who took our drink order and got them out to us as quickly as she could with a big party. 🎉 She was super sweet and kept apologizing for everything and got our orders all perfect and put in as quick as possible. David kept checking on us and even asked what we were celebrating and then said the birthday folks could pick whatever they wanted and it was on him! Way to go above and beyond for people he knew had planned to eat somewhere else but he still wanted us to have a great celebration and a good hot meal and it was amazing. Thank you to this amazing staff. We know it was a team from the bus boys who got our table cleaned and ready to the cook staff who prepared every meal! Next birthday celebration will definitely be a planned trip to...
Read moreWe went here in the Sunday before Christmas. We arrived early (5:30) because we guessed it would be busy. We were told there would be a 20 minute wait, even though the restaurant was only about 25% full (it’s a small location and you can see most of the restaurant from the host stand). But that was ok, we get it, staffing is a major problem now. We were sat, the waitress (Samantha) came to take our drink order, and seeing the situation, we ordered drinks, appetizer, and entrees at that same time. Our drinks arrived, followed by bread, then Samantha did a drink refill. After that, our appetizer was delivered, followed shortly by my salad (I ordered a center cut sirloin, my spouse ordered the Queensland pasta (fettuccini Alfredo with steak and shrimp). The only special request made was for no bacon on the baked potato. Soon, the entrees arrived (delivered by a runner, like everything else) the pasta my spouse ordered was dry, not nearly enough Alfredo sauce, and the baked potato arrived with bacon bits. We never saw our server again until time for the check, so we could not ask for extra Alfredo, and even though the bacon was not a big deal to me, NO ONE ever bothered to even ask us about our meal. Until it was time for the check. I know outback is not like Bones, or Rathbuns. Or even Morton’s, but I have been s Patton of out a gor years, and this was, by far, my worst experience. We will not return, ever. Their recent competition across the street has it figured out. Outback has obviously forgotten it reason to exist. Date of visit: 12/18/22. Check time: 1807, Receipt 141. Check #:0193. Server: Samantha A. Terminal:3 Outback #1171 1404 Turner-McCall...
Read moreFirst time back to Outback in a while; my wife had a bad experience last time, so I guess it's only fitting that it was my turn.
To begin, the server, was unknowledgeable about steak temperature and how they were cooked. I asked if "Pittsburgh Rare" was an option and she said yes, so I ordered a ribeye; I would have ordered a prime rib if I had known that Pittsburgh Rare was unavailable. Obviously, it did not come out the way I wanted.
Next, the server had someone deliver everything else to us as well as all of her three other tables, except the check of course. If a server can't handle a four table section, she also shouldn't be in charge of the bar at the same time, which was empty. I can only imagine why.
Finally, we weren't offered more bread before our salads arrived and the table was cleared AFTER we had finished eating our main course. It was by a food runner no less, and she was kind enough to ask us how everything was and if she could get us anything else. Was she a manager? Maybe? Doesn't matter. Is pre-bussing not a thing in the industry anymore?
The server really blew this experience and unfortunately, after two strikes, my wife and I won't return again.
No need to respond management; I'm sure you're going through this issue more than once a week and I'm sorry you have servers that will probably tell you it was our fault for this bad review, or, they were so overwhelmed. Feel free to believe whomever you want, but in my opinion, she was just lazy and didn't want to be there on a Sunday.
To the server, learn your job or find a new one. Your coworkers hate people like you because you bring them down and they're more than likely...
