My friend says she eats here almost once a week after she suggested that we give this place a try for a lunch date. I'm not the biggest fan of Indian food, but the reviews for New Flavor of India definitely looked promising. This AYCE buffet is located in the Target plaza by the Starbucks/Subway group of stores. And plenty of parking, so you definitely don't have to worry about that.
Ambience is pretty nice. They have very dim lighting (although the lights shining over the food are super bright!) making for a very pleasant dining experience. As soon as you're seated, you're able to grab a plate and head to the buffet line. I think the best thing about this place is their garlic naan bread - super light, with crispy edges, but once you get to the middle, it becomes softer and a bit thicker. I could sit there and eat several basketfuls!
There's a good number of items that are served in the buffet area, but my favorite items were definitely the tandoori chicken, chicken curry, and butter chicken. The rice was pretty flavorful as well! The butter chicken was probably my favorite out of all three - super creamy and soft, going amazing with the rice.
They also have several dessert items, but I opted to try the rice pudding, which was so good! I love tapioca pudding, and the taste definitely reminded me of tapioca pudding, just with a different consistency. I was full pretty quickly (probably from all that naan bread).
tl;dr - Service was really great - workers were constantly coming by to clear our plates and give us more naan if needed. Overall, a solid place to go for Indian food - and you can't beat the $9.99 AYCE lunch buffet deal! I'm not sure about their dinner prices, but coming here for lunch is a...

On 4-25-21, my wife and I had lunch at New Flavor of india and notice that the bill was significantly higher than the last lunch we had several weeks ago.
We looked at the bill and noticed that the prices charged per dish was more than what was advertised on the menu.
The dishes we had and the over charges:
On Menu: 1. Garlic naan $2.99. on bill was $3.99, we had 2 orders
On menu Tandorri chicken $11.99, on bill was $13.99.
On menu the curry lamb was $12.99, our bill was $14.99
On menu, our house salad was $2.99, our bill was $4.99.
In summary, if we did not noticed and questioned why our bill is $8.00 more than what the menu advertised, we would have unknowingly paid more than what we should have paid.
When we questioned the waiter why the prices are higher on our bill compared to what's advertised on the menu, he said the new menu with the higher prices has not been printed and available to customers yet. We were given the old menu with the old prices but were bill the higher price off the new menu not yet available to the customer.
We asked that the bill be updated to the prices on the menu. The restaurant refused but instead gave a 25% discount on our bill.
My complaint is the price on the menu is the price a customer should...

New Flavor of India in Rosemead is a rare gem that brings the heart of traditional Indian home cooking to the table. From the moment you step inside, the inviting aroma of fresh spices sets the tone for a meal that feels both familiar and deeply satisfying.
The lunch buffet is particularly noteworthyâfeaturing dishes like butter chicken thatâs creamy without being overly rich, goat curry with just the right amount of heat, and saag paneer that tastes like it was prepared in someone's family kitchen. The naan is hot and pillowy, perfect for mopping up every last bit of sauce. Even the yogurt raita and lentil soup carry that unmistakable homemade touch.
What really elevates the experience is the warmth of the staff. Theyâre attentive without being intrusive, ready with recommendations, and genuinely welcomingâlike you're dining in their home rather than a restaurant.
Whether youâre discovering Indian cuisine for the first time or craving flavors that remind you of home, this place hits all the right notes. Itâs not flashy, but itâs deeply comfortingâjust as the best...
