Ordered over the phone before. Didn't mind still waited another 20 minutes or so once upon arrival to pick up. Dined in a few times, noticed orders took a bit long from dish to dish. However, today's incidence will definitely steer me away from this place forever. I had placed order of 6 items over the phone 3 hours ahead of time of pick up. ( Called a little after 3:00 PM for a 6:00 PM pick up ) Once I showed up there right on time, I didn't see any food ready, yet I was told the food would be ready in no time. I suggested the front desk to remind their kitchen of my order. The front desk lady assured me my food would be out soon. 30 minutes into waiting, she apologized to me that their kitchen totally forgot my order. And she asked me to waited another 30 minutes or so, so that their kitchen could have my order ready. By then it was already 6:30, going somewhere else and start ordering would cost me a lot of time. So I continued waiting til 7 PM to finally get my food. I don't think this place will go out of business just because I stop going there. But there are so many choices out there which I always had good experiences, why would I ever buy from here again? I normally don't give any negative reviews on any business I encountered. But this place really...
Read moreDon't be put off by the plain exterior or the low ratings. When you see many elderly people at a restaurant, you can bet the flavor is authentic and exceptional. Every time I've come, the Sweet and Sour Fried Egg with Shredded Vegetables is a must on the table; something so simple, yet it leaves such a lasting impression. It can get busy in the evenings, but I've never had to wait long or have difficulty securing a table. This restaurant also has the option for you to bring your own seafood (lobster, fish, crab, etc), you choose a flavor/ style and they'll make it for you. As of August 2024 it was $10/pound for labor, which compared to other restaurants is a very good deal and price. The owners are also here, one in the kitchen and one out serving, so you can count on the flavor and service...
Read moreXiang Ji BBQ & Seafood Restaurant appeared to be an authentic Cantonese restaurant on the internet. I had dinner there on a Friday evening. I ordered their deep fried baby pigeon which was a bit too salty yet still acceptable. I then ordered their steamed pork patty. Steamed pork patty is a very traditional Cantonese dish. However, their “chef” most likely was not an even a Cantonese. It was more like a steamed shredded pork. I asked the waitress if she was a Cantonese. She confirmed she was. I then asked her to tell me if the dish looked like steamed pork patty at all. She tried to give me excuses… Overall, Xiang Ji is a below average level restaurant. I crossed it out from my...
