Purchased a (admittedly inexpensive for this store) coffee grinder here, brought it home and found out it's defective out of the box after trying every troubleshooting option, and taking it apart and cleaning twice per instructions. Brought it back the next day and was met with questions as to what coffee beans I was using ("you shouldn't be using greasy coffee beans.."). This despite the fact that it didn't work with any coffee beans in it. I had to cut the lecture short and remind her of that. Imagine victim shaming over defective coffee maker. After I was credited, I actually thanked her thinking I might upgrade right there and wanted to shop. But when I was met with a tight lipped "mmm" after my thank you- no sorry or offer to help further- I walked right out incensed. Nice work Williams-Sonoma and thanks again- no more overpriced...
Read moreWill never shop here again. We bought a WS brand thermometer that didn’t work properly out of the box. (Some of the pixels in the LCD display were not showing up.) My husband went to return it and, while the associate who helped him was very kind, apologetic, and understanding, the two managers he had to speak to (and repeat his story to) were downright obnoxious snots. He wasn’t even getting it refunded - he was exchanging it for a pricier model! Managers who harangue customers as if they’re pulling some sort of scheme should be dressed down or demoted by whatever regional management exists. Read moreI have to share my experience because the employees were so kind and helpful. I made it to the store just barely 5 minutes before closing. Having worked in retail, I felt so bad because I'm never "that" customer, but it was my only reason for driving there and only opportunity to get a birthday gift in time to surprise my husband. The employees didn't hesitate to take the time to help me choose the right thing and package it up nicely.
After I left, I realized I couldn't find my phone. They let me back in TWICE after the door was locked and called me as I ran from car to store and back again. They were really understanding, even though I was mortified. I really appreciated their help and kindness in a stressful...
