Had a party here in March. Have 4 kids and have had plenty of parties here. I did a survey but nobody ever contacted me back so figured I could share my experience here. We did a weekday party, on a Thursday. Place wasn’t too packed which is always good! The pizza was good. We got our food and had no napkins on any of our reserved tables along with no plates for our guests. We waited about 10 minutes and finally I went and gathered items from the workers station. The “host” then came and I let her know I took it upon myself to gather items. She said “oh that’s okay!” So Chuck E. Cheese comes out, it’s supposed to be a fun celebration for the bday kid. In the song they sing the host is supposed to yell out announcing who’s birthday it is, mind you my son is the only party at this time. It was dead silence. She said nothing. We sang, I cut the cake myself and passed it out. Our host asked for a piece of cake for her friend and herself. I gave them it because I had plenty left and was going to toss it. We get to payment time, my husband and I are BIG tippers. As previously stated this isn’t our first, or even 5th time having a party here. We have never ever been asked for a tip but always gave it. Our host who did nothing but bring out pizza for us said not only to me but to my husband that gratuity is not included. We gave her a tip, it was not deserved but I would have felt bad giving nothing. We also did not get all of our balloons we were supposed to have, not any goody bags. Nor any extra e-tickets. (I say this because we placed our party during a time when packages changed, but we got none of it between the two different packages). I told my two children who still have birthdays this year we will not be doing a Chuck E. Cheese party again. I gave the stars because my kids always have fun, no doubt about that. But it’s aggravating having to host a party and pay for it and not get what you pay for. And the reason I didn’t press the issue of the e-tickets was because I thought it was automatically loaded onto the birthday attendees playpass cards since we didn’t get the...
Read moreI am a regular here! I pass many many CEC locations to come here (1hr drive from Chicagoland). I have had 10/10 experiences here until 8/19/23 around 1:30pm. The manager on duty on this day (VAL) needs customer service training. To begin, rather you agree with a customer’s opinion, as a manager (the person who is supposed to be the leader) needs to learn how to respond to customers. I have worked many jobs in my younger days and I was always taught to apologize. I brought a situation to her and she literally looked at me like i was stupid, and said “ok ok ok” and kept looking at me like I was stupid! I am going to call during business hours to address what MY concern/question was, but to have this individual in a role of a manager not handle a customer properly is BAD and gives this location a SOUR TASTE. She needs training on how to deal with people. Its very evident she doesn’t take the role of a manager seriously and doesn’t give a care about a customer. After I complained I told her instead of looking at me like that how about you apologize on behalf of CEC! That is what a properly trained manager would do. I am all about being respectful to people at all cost especially when it comes to work and the fact this individual didn’t bothers me!
This location is cleaner than most CEC and again, I am a regular. There is a young man who is normally there (dont know his name) but after several conversations with him he takes pride in this store, helps maintain the cleanliness, and makes sure those games work! You can tell not only he loves what he does but he truly cares about this store. Val on the otherhand the complete opposite. I had never seen her there before, but I were to ever return and saw her there, I will leave. The whole dynamic of the store on this day was totally different than it usually is. Anyway, I write this review so that training can be provided to your leaders to ensure customer service skills are exercised at all times. If i were a secret shopper, she would’ve failed miserably.
No longer my favorite...
Read moreHi, Chuck E cheese. I came to your establishment with my girls and my wife. My daughter instantly was unamused. It's not because they lack the attention span because we don't do the iPad thing most parents do these days. Trust me. We bought your card with credits to play the arcade machines and we ordered pizza. We found a place to sit, but all of them had what I could only describe as cheese sweat, so we picked the seat that had the least amount of odor. Unfortunately we couldn't hear each other, because one of the employees kept vacuuming. Fair, but we came at 3 pm and the floors were spotless which I give them props for. Either he is a clean freak or he is trying to keep busy. What I do know is you guys need to keep your employees busy because when my wife took one my daughters to the bathroom which my wife described that there was a strong odor of marijuana. Thanks for giving my daughter a contact high. I get the employees are going, but that is unacceptable. For it being a place for kids, you guys think you would have better precautions. Besides the arcade games being rigged and the prizes being mediocre at best the pizza was Chuck E cheese quality which I can say was the only consistent thing at the restaurant. I remember going to my nieces and nephews parties at Chucky E cheese awhile ago and I vaguely remember a play place where kids could run around in and get exercise after eating greasy pizza, but I guess you guys took the only fun part of Chuck E cheese away. The workers for the most part were nice. I really like the young lady who rung us up.
Maybe just take your kids to a park and...
