My wife came across one of their take-out menus at her work, so we decided to give them a shot. We ordered one of their small thin-crust pizzas with Italian sausage, their penne with vodka sauce, and an order of meat ravioli with Italian sausage in marinara sauce.

The pizza was very good. The sauce is definitely on the sweet side, comparable to Aurelio's, but not cloying. The sausage, a combination of medium-size chunks and ground sausage, had good flavor, and they didn't skimp on the cheese. All in all, a pretty good pie.

We were a little nervous to try the penne with vodka sauce. The last decent vodka sauce we'd had was at Polito's in South Bend, IN, so when we saw it on the menu we had to try it. It definitely didn't disappoint. Plenty of flavor, and it clung to the pasta nicely. It wasn't as thick or spicy as Polito's, but it had plenty of flavor. Very good.

The ravioli with Italian sausage in marinara was excellent. The sauce reminded me of the pasta sauce my wife and I make, with plenty of garlic, basil, oregano, and chunks of tomato. The ravioli were cooked perfectly, and the Italian sausage put the dish over the top for myself.

The included bread was a nice compliment to both pasta dishes, and the portion sizes were gigantic. My wife, son, and I all have plenty of leftovers, which is definitely not a bad thing. My only gripe is that they don't have a lasagna on their menu other than for catering, but there's still plenty of other choices on their menu, so it's just a small gripe. We'll...

I recently placed an order with Palermo’s in Merrillville for my daughter’s Sweet 16, and while the food itself was delicious, I was very disappointed with the overall experience. Before ordering, I researched pricing for mostaccioli and chicken on their website. However, when I called to place the order, I was told the prices were significantly higher than what was listed online.

The woman I spoke with on the phone was very nice and understanding of my concerns. A few days later, I received a call from one of the owners, Paul, who explained that the prices online were outdated and that they don’t update their website frequently due to constant changes in food costs and the cost to update their website. While I understand that prices can fluctuate, I still find it very unprofessional for a business not to honor the prices they advertise online. It felt like false advertisement to me.

Palermo’s has been around for a long time, so I expected better transparency and customer service in this regard. My advice to anyone ordering catering would be to call directly for pricing rather than relying on their website, as they will not honor what price is...

This was difficult since I haven't had Palermo's in 20 yrs. We ordered for pickup and customer service was excellent 5 ⭐. I'll start with our pizza, Sausage & Pepperoni. The quality of the cheese, sausage & pepperoni was excellent 5 ⭐. The sauce was extremely bland with plain tomato taste 2 ⭐. We ordered Jalapeno Poppers and Garlic Cheese Bread for side. The 6 pc poppers were small and mediocre at best, 2 ⭐. The Garlic cheese bread was bland with no seasonings, so it was toasted bread with great cheese, 2 ⭐. While I was picking up my order the owner was walking around and speaking to the customers. They spoke highly of their pasta dishes and food that was not pizza, so maybe Palermo's is better know for other food?! Owner speaking to customer is an excellent quality in a restaurant, 5 ⭐. I do not recommend the garlic cheese bread or poppers, but I will give them another opportunity to see if the bland sauce was a fluke or try...

Absolutely the best Pizza from the South Side of Chicago has infiltrated Indiana. Palermos is in the top 5 always mentioned in Chicago. This pizza is what I compare any pizza to. The crust is crispy but burnt or soggy, the cheese is incredible, the sauce is a sweetish properly seasoned and always on point. They do pizza right and it's a hefty pizza at that so you won't go away hungry ever. Their cheese sticks are skirting l something to experience. Lasagna with straight up have you drooling for more even if your filled, it's family ran and will always be that way to maintain quality. If you get lucky Frank will be there from the 63rd street joint and 2 minutes into taking to him your like an old friend. Save your pizza searching and hit up Palermos, Your welcome!!!

Was hesitant to go just because it's Sunday, but they weren't busy! I'm glad we went despite my misgivings. I ordered a small salad as an appetizer....it was a good size and quality. I had a gluten free veggie special pizza and my husband had Italian beef and fries. Both of our meals were huge! The pizza has ruined me for any other pizza...it was fantastic... especially the sauce. My husband's sandwich was so packed he couldn't eat his fries (and they gave him so many fries the take out container was packed). It's nice to see a restaurant give people their money's worth. The food really is good. We will be back...the menu has plentiful choices from which to choose! Wait staff was very nice!

I love the original Palermo's on 63rd and I was very hopeful that it was the same sauce and food. I went for lunch, and I was seated right away. I ordered the baked mostaccioli with marinara sauce. My first impression was that it was a big order of food. It looked good covered in cheese. The pasta was overcooked, and the marinara sauce was very sweet. It tasted like sugar. This is not what the original Palermo's tastes like at all. My meal came with garlic bread and that was good. Overall I was not impressed; I will wait to go to the original location and drive past this one on the way.
