Sheffield's Sportsbar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Ross Township

Pre orders my food on June 27 at 1:30 was told 20 min I was there at 2 food still not done but that’s not the issue, issue is waited another 10 min , order came out I orderd chicken nachos and a 6 piece lemon pepper wing, to start cheese was hard chicken on Nachos was burnt and taste horrible whoever grilled it burnt it and still served it it tasted like charcoal cheese was hard not even melted.. lemon pepper wings could even taste the lemon pepper cause that even tasted burnt but wasn’t letting me know the grease hasn’t been changed in a very long time. I have ate there and ordered these same items while enjoying the atmosphere and food was fabulous but I waited and still got cold food and burnt food . And they wasn’t even busy maybe 5 people in the whole restaurant.. very disappointed in the grill...

Roxanne is a great bartender. She gives excellent service and knows how to read guests well. I worked in the industry a long time so I know what to look for. The atmosphere is super chill with the right lighting, good amount of high tops and bar tops. One of the best things is they don't have overbearing loud music or Karaoke blasting and this was on a Friday night. I was even so happy with them that I went back Monday night. I was glad that they gave me plastic silverware in a package so I didn't have to worry about sanitation. Im not from Indiana/Illinois Im from Tennessee. However if Im ever back here, I'll be sure to return. If you want a local neighborhood bar-like service and atmosphere but more than juat a 10 seat bar top, then...

I would call this a dive bar but it was the highlight to my stay in Merrillville. The drinks were a fair price the atmosphere was cool and it had smoking allowed in the bar so that brought me back to how bars used to be and it was just a cool experience. The waitress had to ID us all and we’re in our late 30’s so that was kinda weird but she got nicer as the night went on. The food was another high point for me. I don’t remember what the burger was called but they had a 1 lb burger option that would have been the biggest burger I can remember ever seeing offered at a bar but….. they also offered it as a double! I finished the 1 lb burger but my friend couldn’t finish the 2lb one. I would go here again next time...
