Food was good and tasted just like any other Golden Chick's food.
Had a big problem with the very aggressive lady in a collared blue polo shirt that said Golden Chick on it (she appeared to be a manager possibly). I needed a water cup also to use with a supplement I need to take and to help reduce potential dehydration from whichever caffeinated drink I chose (much like other restaurants, they only have 1 or 2 drinks that are not caffeinated). When I asked this lady who was the cashier for me for a water cup, she acted aggressive and aggravated at me wondering why I need a water cup when I already had a cup to drink out of. She didn't wait for a response as I was attempting to reply and grabbed a water cup from the back.
Next up was the ice machine. There was no ice in the machine so I had to let them know they were out of ice. I had to talk to the same lady in blue again and she again responded aggressively for some reason (I can't remember what she said), and as I was attempting to respond she interrupted me completely and said for me to give her my cup and that she would put ice in it. She seems like a really hard worker, which is good, but pretty rude and negative towards customers about every little request at the same time.
It was at a pretty slow time of day. There were only 3 groups of customers inside and 1 or 2 cars in the drive thru at a time. It was between lunch and dinner time (usually a pretty slow time of day for most restaurants).
I've worked at McDonalds before and I understand if things get tough and if you're feeling stressed. It can be a tough job. But you should not treat customers this way when they're asking nicely for something they need. It should not be treated as such an issue when a customer just needs very simple things that do not take too long. Unfortunately this lady seemed to act like every request was so much weight on her shoulders in a rude way...as if I was asking her to run 10 miles in 2 minutes or something. She was very rude about very simple things. If they don't pay enough and that's also an issue, I understand. But that shouldn't have such a negative effect on how you're treating customers also.
The customer service was pretty bad. I'm usually never treated this way anywhere else. This was one of my worst experiences ever at...
Read moreThey are working their @$$3$ off!!!... is it always this busy on a Sunday evening?🤷🏻♀️ I guess that goes to show the food is worth the wait.
I waited for quite a while in the drive thru. I drove off but then came back to order inside. I was able to order quicker inside. 👍
Food was below expectations. Tip: Request extra sauce on the mashed potatoes.
My bun wasn't warm:( sadness. I asked for a warmer one knowing there was little chance of that. The cashier hesitated as if he didn't know if he could do that so i just said it's ok if no.
The 2 piece leg and wing were ok. I don't think it's worth $8.69. I did like though that they were able to replace the breast with the leg (which I learned is the drumstick...even emojis auto call it that 🍗 🤷🏻♀️).
The dine in area is too small. There's a Golden Chick on the way to Leander and that one is very well decorated and has ample space. This one has a bunch of tables almost one on top of the other.
My favorite part was that they have raspberry lemonade.
Don't bother getting the ice cream cone. Or try a little if you'd like. But eat it as they say for dine in only. As in eat it inside. Not, you dined in so you can have some. Lol I ended up having lovely little ice cream messes everywhere. 🍦🍦🍦
I'll go back on another Sunday evening but will check to see if it is busier than usual. If only two or three cars are waiting, I'll wait.
Or keep ya in mind for a Fish Friday 🐠 to try the fried catfish.
I'll check to make sure the bread is warm that time before driving off and make sure to order extra gravy on the mashed potatoes. And of course be sure to order the RLemonade.
I've worked a drive thru before so understand how hard it is.
I'll stop...
Read moreI placed an order online for delivery. I kept seeing the App say "Ready for Pickup". I never saw a driver get the order, so I finally called the restaurant and I spoke with the supervisor (didn't get her name). I informed her that I placed an order 45 minutes ago, but the App still shows "Ready for Pickup". She apologized for the confusion, and informed me that they don't offer delivery service, that I needed to come to pick up the order. When I arrived I told her my name. She apologized again, and said she would make my order again, so that it would be fresh, as the order had been sitting there for nearly an hour. I showed her that the App showed delivery was available. She confirmed that they are aware of this, and was in the process to have that fixed. I showed her that I was charged a $4.99 delivery fee with my order. This supervisor did everything in her power to make it right and to make better my experience. She handled the situation in the best way that she could, and offered me a free large side. She turned an inconvenient situation into a positive experience with her kindness, and her "above and beyond" actions. I ordered 24 wicked wings and gravey, and received a large complimentary dirty rice. Believe it or not, I consider their wings better than Wing Stop or Pluckers!!! And the dirty rice is the best that I've tasted in a very long time, 10 times better than Church's...
