Give Thanks Bakery Royal Oak — Restaurant in Royal Oak

I'm actually surprised I never rated give thanks on Google lol because I HIGHLY recommend them on all the social media platforms/local groups. Best croissants in the area hands down. Flakey and so many layers and not greasy. Absolute perfection. Especially their almond croissants. All their breads are amazing. Cookies and scones we love. I will note I think it's a German thing... the "cake" type items tend to be on the drier side. Still delicious full of so much flavor but just I think it's a culture thing. Like their muffins and bee sting cake (which I know the cake part is supposed to be kinda bready). The bee sting is ADDICTIVE. Their shortbread and linzer cookies are a family fav as well. Definitely check them out if you haven't. They also have wonderful sandwiches and traditional German pretzels and Illy coffee which is fabulous and this time of year...

Just purchased a variety of sweets from here on Saturday before Valentines Day. The staff is lovely, but I won’t be back 😞 We tried the cinnamon roll first. Hard & dried out, into the trash. The Bee Sting cake was the same. Hard to the touch, dry in the mouth. But the cream was nice, just kind of flavorless. The bread pudding was lovely. I have more to try from there this weekend, but I’m a bit apprehensive. It’s not cheap, so one would expect fresh products, especially on a Saturday! When I called to let them know about the cinnamon roll, I was politely thanked, but no apology for the old flavorless dried out piece of dough I paid for.
