Smoky’s Cigar Bar & Bistro — Restaurant in Royal Oak

My first time at this establishment and unfortunately it’ll probably be my last. The positives: the inside looks appetizing, comfortable seating, huge TV’s and perfect lighting. The drinks (smoky old fashion) had a perfect balance of flavor. The Negatives: The humidor had a limited selection. My brother ordered the Lollipop lamb chops absolutely ZERO seasoning. Customer service was below average. We were the only customers there and the host/waiter/bartender disappeared for over 35 minutes. My dad (72yrs old) wanted another drink, I wanted another drink and regardless of the unflavored lamb chops my brother was going to place a carry out order. None of that was possible because we saw nobody, no chef, no host, and no bartender. I only realized how long it’s been because I was almost done with my cigar (which was overpriced). We shouldn’t have to look for staff when we are the paying customers. My bill was slightly over $100, if the service was excellent like Churchill’s in Grosse Pointe, Robusto’s, Ambassador or Godfather Bistro I would’ve been ok. The clutter at the front door was an eye sore. I hope this establishment changes how the way they treat customers, google how to add seasoning to lamb chops and chicken strips. Elliot is the best!!! My wife Leah and I never feel as if we our customers when we’re there. Just the mere fact that the owner is able to have a delightful conversation while running his establishment speaks wonders for us.

I’ve been a customer here well before Smokey’s became a bar and to see the huge difference between a lounge and this beautiful layout of a Bar/Bistro is awesome.

Since Smokey’s reopened as a Bar/Bistro I have many meet ups here. One of my great friends was getting married and I had all the groomsmen meet here, I had a little small Chrysler reunion with past co-workers here as well. Everyone enjoyed the environment the food, being able to watch the games and the drinks.

In closing, I want to think The Chef for the amazing menu and the wait Staff especially Elliot Sister for being so kind and to be able to handle the crowd of customers that come through there. I hope I’m spelling her name correctly but Hola is the best at she does!!!

Everything was Great! Bistro and cigar bar. Ventilation system is amazing. Doesn't smell smoky like most cigar lounges. Everything we ordered to eat was very tasteful and Great!!!! Let me just say, this is a chilled adults playground. Great drinks, apps, and hats off to the chef entrees……and I can smoke a cigar…why haven’t I known about this place? And our server was the absolute best. One of the most attentive I’ve had in a while. A must return, in fact..I’m adding it to my list of rotations!! You gotta check it out for yourself. Try to be there before 8pm otherwise you’ll definitely be waiting in the doorway for a seat. And the owner Elliot and his sister Hala is the absolutely best. Cool spot to have a drink meet some good people and enjoy yourself. They have cigars in all different price ranges so don't be discouraged to come. Prices aren't too crazy...
