The bento box is always a good value for lunch. Also, the options for the bento boxes are pretty extensive so there's something for everyone. I also ordered a couple of basic rolls. I'm allergic to shellfish so I asked to substitute the tempura shrimp to spicy tuna in my Philadelphia Roll. They were able to accommodate without hesitation. The seared tuna wasn't anything to rave about. We had a good food experience. Our server on this day was a little "rushing". Basically trying to force our orders out of us even though we'd requested 5-10 minutes to look over their MASSIVE menu. She kept coming back every 2 minutes forcing us for an order. I ordered for my son and husband at that moment but I requested for a couple more minutes to decide on something for myself because I have a shellfish allergy and was trying to look for a sushi roll that didnt have shellfish. She never came back to take my order. So I flagged another server down so I can order. Overall, the atmosphere is poppin' during lunch and the food is good.

Update: I came by to do takeout... place literally just opened, and already I was being rushed looking through the menu. My food had sat on the counter for a good amount of time before the server finished packing my order. The food is still delicious, but the portion has gone noticeably smaller. The Lion King Roll for $18.95 is not justified. I'm so disappointed because I loved Sushi Cafe. I just don't think I'd keep on patronizing it after my experience today. 9 months ago: Been coming here for the last 2 years... still one of my favorite sushi places... Food is always fresh and delicious and you get so much value for your money... i love their bento boxes and freeport roll. 2 years ago: Came here for lunch with hubby... place was packed but didn't feel crowded... foods were fresh, tasty and appropriately portioned... prices were very reasonable... our male server was very nice and courteous... will come back.

Sushi Cafe is an absolute gem! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with a warm ambiance and impeccable service. The sushi selection is top-notch, with each roll beautifully crafted and bursting with flavor. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or a newbie, there's something for everyone on their diverse menu. The freshness of the ingredients truly shines through in every bite. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, always ready to offer recommendations or cater to dietary restrictions. It's evident that the chefs take great pride in their work, as each dish is presented with care and precision. Sushi Cafe has quickly become my go-to spot for a delicious and memorable dining experience. Highly recommend!

In celebration of enjoying the day of activation (my birthday), we all went down to Sushi Cafe last night. called in a reservation, got there, place was packed but they had "my" table. It was the evening to really have fun and enjoy their amazing food. Started off with plate of warm edamame--nice fat beans that just popped into a waiting palate. Immediately followed by 4 wonderful shrimp tempura along with their infamous oysters on a half shell with special sauce.

All the girls keep checking on me to make sure my evening is the best, I said bring 4 more oysters with the special sauce. Served in a bowl of ice cubes, those 4 little pearls looking at me saying take my shell to your lips!!!!!!! Geez they just taste so good, chewing every bit to get all the flavors they offered.

As I finished the oysters during which time I was enjoying my raspberry ice tea, out came the fabulously delicious "Paradise Roll" with extra sauce. Just melt in your mouth flavors of shrimp, crab, scallop and sauces all deep dried so there was that wonderful crunch. Also served with the roll were 4 more tempura shrimp, they are a nice size and that wonderful batter, you just can't make those at home!!!

Now as I am working through the roll, downing the tempura shrimp, out comes the third order of oysters, OMG it is just heaven. The Paradise Roll stacked 4 layers high really should be shared, alas others ordered bento boxes so I was stuck with the whole roll

I finally finished the roll, the tempura and the third order of oysters and the nice girl came by and I looked at her, stared into her eyes, smiled and said, "one more order of oysters"!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now everything is gone, just the fourth glass of rasebarrie ice tea, and I am given what I thought was the most delicious dessert one could have after a mind boggling dinner, the fourth order of oysters!!!!!!!r. As I slid the fourth and last oyster in my mouth and chewed savoring the exceptional quality of the oyster all I could do was have a big smile and say "just fabulous"!!!!!!!!!!!

Once it was gone, my very cute waitress came by and said they had something special for me!!!!!! Ok then!!!!!!!!!!!! Soon out came this beautiful plate with amazing writing and the ever delicious Mochi ice cream balls. How much better could it get. Thank you girls, it was the most wonderful celebration of the day!!!!!!! I will be back!!! And yes everyone, I do enjoy my...

I drive Lyft 2-3 days per week and am always trying new places to stop on my dinner break in midtown. Yesterday I stopped in during their Happy Hour. (The back of the menu is filled with rolls for only $5.50 each.) I ordered a spicy roll, miso soup and a diet coke ($10.). It was filled with a spicy tuna mix, very light rice, topped with the most mouth-watering, fresh salmon sashimi I've ever eaten, and avocado along with two sauces. Omg. It was the BEST SUSHI ROLL I HAVE HAD IN YEARS! I was in shock. It was so good I only ate 3 pieces of it so I could save the remainder and eat during small breaks throughout the night. The entire thing melted like butter in my mouth. BTW, I am very picky, being a chef for years, previous restaurant owner, and rarely give 5 stars. It was seriously the best sushi Ive had in like 5 years. Sky Suchi in EDH is a close second. I will be returning here for my breaks at least once per week from now on. Excellent restaurant! Plus: cool decor, nice staff, family-friendly... And busy for obvious reasons. ... Heard about the legal issues with poaching and my response will not be popular: Goes to show how much the owner knows about seafood and it is proven in the quality and taste of the food. He is an expert!...

The chicken teriyaki was disgusting. Like elementary school cafeteria chicken in the 80s. Processed, frozen, reheated, chewy, and gross. It tasted like liquid smoke and chemicals. On top of all of that the teriyaki sauce was tasteless. Teriyaki sauce is so simple to make I don't know how any self respecting restaurant could serve this. For fu€k sake just charge a couple dollars more and make decent food. Getting messed up teriyaki sauce at a French restaurant would be understandable, it's not what they do. Getting gross teriyaki at a Japanese place is shocking. This is your dish, guys. Got the bento box, the sushi roll it came with was served on top of the dressed salad. The salad dressing ruined the roll flavor. My husband had a donburi bowl. (Raw fish & cooked shrimp, over rice) his shrimp were de-veined, the tempura shrimp in my bento box was NOT. I don't want to eat feces because you think you can hide it under breading. This place has good ratings, I can only assume that maybe we didn't order what's good on the menu. Maybe their rolls are amazing (when not served with salad dressing) or something? I don't know. The wait staff was nice, we tipped 18% (not their fault) but after this experience we will not...
