Reviewed during COVID-19 when outdoor dining was still available. Thank you to the businesses and staff helping to serve the communities, especially in such times. ========================== Far from home, but we were in the area. Thought we would try another local place (soon to find out that it's owned by Crepeville). Good concept to have specialty restaurants. We grabbed a late meal - Smoked Aged Cheddar Burger - ordered medium rare, and cooked as ordered. It's hard to really taste the cheese on such burgers - sometimes the bacon takes over tastes. But hey, bacon still taste great! If you're looking for a satisfying burger, one that you can finish and not complain after - this is your burger. The beef tasted well, the lettuce and tomatoes were refreshing with the aioli and caramelized onions. Irish Nachos - now this is hangover food. I'm also a sucker for such appetizers as meals. I'll have the whole thing for myself! Great amount of cheese, bacon and a bit of heat from the jalapenos. The fries remained crispy, and just the right amount (or maybe I was just hungry) but it was almost demolished! If you're looking for consistency, I think Burgers & Brew would have it. They specialize in their sandwiches and should have their recipes down. If we're even back in town and need a quick bite, would try them again.

Burgers were delicious when we were here, beers were also good. The menu is quite appealing, with a variety of french fry plates that I can't wait to go back for, and plenty of different burgers to try. I had a pastrami burger which was fantastic. The proportions of everything, especially the sauerkraut, were spot on - nothing was overpowering and I could taste everything (though I would have liked more pastrami, but that's just me). They had garlic curly fries which I was excited about, and they were not overwhelmingly garlicky. If anything I would have been fine with a little more garlic. My girlfriend had the cheddar burger and sweet potato fries that we both enjoyed greatly. It was hard to pick a favorite among the food. The beers were also great - we had a banana bread beer that tasted quite how you'd want, and a sour beer that I was excited they had at all. Dessert was pretty good - a cheesecake covered with Nutella. The location is pretty great - there is a music venue next door and we even saw a traveling band walk by outside. This is definitely a great place to go for burgers and beer.

Service was good. Friendly and attentive, especially for an "order at the counter"style place. The food was trash. Why include sauces or seasonings in the menu description and not use a single one? Fries arrived unsalted. Burger arrived dry and flavorless. My boyfriend ordered loaded fries with the cheese unmelted and the fries already wet and soggy. The beer is served in soda cups for some reason... for a restaurant advertising beer in the title, it's strange to me to not use actual beer glasses. For 2 beers, an appetizer, and 1 entrée, we paid $58. With that, you get plastic cutlery, plastic plates, beer in soda glasses, and food so unbelievably plain it should be criminal. Front of house is good, kitchen staff either need to be trained, replaced, or a serious kick in the behind to step it up. With so many other phenomenal restaurants on the same street, I'm amazed this place is in business. We ended up going next door, ordered the fried mac and cheese, and had far superior experience.

First time visit and came during happy hour. A few customers but not busy. For the price, 2 stars is being generous.

Ordered the Cheese burger + sweet potato fries off the happy hour menu, and a Strawberry Mangostein beer.

Price: $30 after tip Food: The medium rare burger was cooked perfectly for me, and despite the burger being pretty plain for a $15 burger.. it could have been good.

The problem? Zero seasoning or sauce, an absolute crime. Light on the cheese for a 1/2 lb burger also. All in all, a sad meal to eat. I realized post meal I could've added my own salt to the burger, as I'm sure that would've made a world of difference. It just never occurred to me you know lol..

Sweet potato fries also no seasoning or sauce, cooked good otherwise. More enjoyable than the burger but was hard to get their salt to stick.

Beer was unfortunately meh also, but not a huge dis. I loooove some fruity beers, but they're hard to find. Most breweries don't get the balance right. I'm sure their regular beers are good.

Waitress was fantastic (never got her name or I forgot) and I talked with her about the burger / fries.

She said they don't season their sweet potato fries (should absolutely be advertised as unseasoned IMO). She said they normally season all their burgers, and some burgers also have sauces on them.

The theory was that maybe someone else ordered the same burger and asked for no seasoning, and it got sent to me by mistake? Or the chef just forgot but the chef had gone home so we don't actually know what happened. Either way, you can't be charging someone $20-30+ for a completly unseasoned, unsalted, unsauced meal. I refuse to say DRY because again, burger was cooked good and not dry at all. Just tasteless. Though ig the fries were dry? Maybe I should've asked for butter or olive oil, as that would've helped getting salt to stick on them. Then the fries could've gone from 1/10 to 9/10 easy.

Final thoughts: This place definitely has potential to be a 3-4stars for me if the food had at least been salted. For the price however, I'd still expect a lot more for a $30 meal during happy hour. Don't want to look what their regular prices are O,╭╮O

p.s.TOTALLY forgot, I asked them about parking and you HAVE to pay a minimum of $3.50 to park street side, per hour. A metaphorical nail in the...

What can i say about my first experience at this place. If i can give this place zero stars i would. Well it was my boyfriend & I first time here. We came on a July 4th night and we knew that all Food & Bar places were going to be busy but this place was far by the WORST. We placed our order at 11:09pm & our cashier was Logan. We sat near the bathroom based on how busy it was and no where to sit but after probably 10-15min it started to die down to where it was steady and tables started to get empty..Well we waited patiently until probably 11:59 when the table next to us went to go check on there food because they were waiting for quite some time too and the moment they complained there food came out in minutes. Then my BF had to complain to and we still didn't get our food until i decided to tell him to just get a refund and by the time he got the refund it was exactly 12:09am 1hr from when we ordered and finally they brought out our food but we didn't even take the food either just the fact that it took us to complain & ask for a refund for the restaurant to bring out our food. And the worst part was we had to PAY AHEAD OF TIME & WE LEFT A TIP ON A TAB. The BEST PART, we have to wait 3-5 business days for our MONEY TO REFUNDED BACK INTO MY BF DEBIT CARD TOO. SO BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, NO FOOD, NO MONEY & WASTED TIME WAITING. We basically had to predict our customer service and leave a tip not knowing how the service was going to be. We had no one & i mean NO EMPLOYEES come check on us at all, not even to see if we even got our food..we had our # on the edge of the table the whole time we were sat down just so they can see our # better & still nothing. If i was to spill my drink, MAYBE that would of caught there attention. All we ordered was 2 Burgers & 1 clam chowder. and the table next to us order clam chowder too and 1 of the employees came & told them that they ran out of clam chowder & is making it right now & they will get the first batch & that table ordered way after us and we weren't notified of anything or not even a table touch. My first time here & my LAST. We waited 1hr to not even be able to eat anything and after we left & we decided to get in & out & got our burgers in...

If there was a zero star I’d give them that instead of the 1!! The service was very upsetting and displeasing. Very rude employee and “manager” Daniel Jonson and a lady in front at the register refused to let me sit down to eat because we ordered online due to us working across town and we’re on a limited lunch time. My co workers and I have always supported and came to burgers and brews at different locations even dispite us being on a time crunch. And our new schedule makes it harder and we still try to support burgers and brew but for us to be denied seating when there are over 10 open tables! Is outrageous and is just a overall rude and unaccommodating. I could completely understand if there were customers waiting to get tables and it was packed. But there was a lot of empty tables. And they were very rude and continued to argue with me about it instead of being any type of understanding and reasonable and the manager at this Davis location of burgers and brew “Daniel Jonson” told me that I could go elsewhere and not come back if I didn’t like it wich I have on video recording!! Along with another employee who then said she would call the cops on me for stating my case of having open tables and not letting me and my coworkers sit and eat. We’re very displeased and I will be telling all my family and friends to stay away from this establishment as this issue isn’t being or hasn’t been resolved. Me and my coworkers will no longer lunch here and we’re a big part of the Davis community. It’s very sad, but appropriate to not support businesses in the area who treats their loyal paying customers as trash and what we just...
