Simply put, one of the best places to eat in Sacramento! Food, staff and atmosphere, is the complete package. After my first trip there, it was so amazing i went back the next day and one more time that week. Now I'll get into the details...
Brady took our order and really took some time with us for recommendations and customization of our order. After you order up front you sit with a number and they bring the food to you. After the great Brady came the wonderful Navy! Navy was very friendly and you could tell she really cared about making our meal feel special. If you have any questions or customizations ASK! Everyone there is incredibly helpful!
Regarding the food, get ready, I don't think you are ready, well, here goes... phenomenal!
First the fried chicken sandwich, I got the maple hot, large well seasoned piece that was very juicy. The slaw with the pickles were a perfect accent to the meat. The chicken and waffles, we subbed strips in place of wings. Strips were lightly breaded and fairly moist. While the waffle was amazing! The batter they use is flavorful and the waffle is light and fluffy. And their maple butter is the perfect addition. Then there are the Bawk bites, some of the juiciest dark meat boneless bites you will ever have! Next was the Catfish. The breading was very light and that allowed the fluffy and glistening Catfish flavor to come through with force. An absolute must have if you enjoy fish. Biscuits and gravy, I'm a stickler on this one and believe me when I say, they delivered. It's a brick style biscuit which is usually dry in the middle but this one maintained good moisture throughout, and a gravy with just the right amount of sausage... lots, lol. Cornbread muffins are great, definitely on the sweeter side though, moist and served with that maple butter, delicious. Next is the smash burger, anyone who has had this burger knows the style. Always great flavor but often dry. Not here, they got the moisture balanced perfectly and the sauce on it has a little kick, so be ready for that little surprise. And I washed all of this down with copious amounts of their delicious sweet tea! I finished with their butterscotch pudding, a literal and figurative treat. Not overwhelmingly sweet, but rather light with a smooth flavor.
I know, it looks like it's all great, well... so far it is. I will be back there soon because of great food, amazing staff and a totally relaxed atmosphere. Thank you for reading, I hope you try this...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Bawk! by Urban Roots in Sacramento, CA, and it was an exceptional experience. This spot offers a fun and vibrant urban atmosphere that immediately sets the mood for a fantastic meal.
Despite being a counter-order establishment, the staff's attentiveness stood out as they consistently checked on our satisfaction throughout the meal. Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the chicken sandwich. We opted for the maple hot version, and it was a delightful blend of flavors. The slaw and pickles complemented the juicy chicken perfectly, offering a balance of heat without overwhelming the taste buds.
The fries were a delightful surprise with their crispy texture, and the chicken and waffles were unlike any I've had before. Three huge wings accompanied by a heavenly maple butter to pair with the maple syrup made for a memorable combination. It's safe to say this was close to the best chicken I've ever had.
In addition to the fantastic food, the overall cleanliness of the place, including the restrooms, was noteworthy. The great service and prime location added to the overall appeal of Bawk! by Urban Roots.
If you're in the Sacramento area and looking for an unforgettable dining experience with fantastic chicken dishes, I highly recommend Bawk! It's a true gem that deserves every one of...
Read moreI've had this place on my "foodie" list for a while now and I was finally in the area and i gotta say I'm so glad i finally got to try them. I went with a friend and we ordered the Chicken And Waffles, a Butterscotch Pudding, an Apple Pie, and an Arnold Palmer and Lemonade. The chicken and waffles is by far one of the best I've had, we both got it with the Maple Hot Honey which didn't have any sort of spiciness in my opinion but was delicious nonetheless. The chicken was steaming hot, crispy, juicy and tender! The atmosphere is very chill, with a nice urban vibe, the graffiti floors were a fun touch of personality. The staff was friendly and great to interact with and they were quick to clear up a table after we ordered as it was fairly busy when we arrived. The only downside I'd say to this location is the parking as it's right in the downtown area, you just gotta be committed to finding a spot or willing to pay for parking in one of the lots nearby, but other than that i definitely recommend this spot! I'll definitely be coming back when...
