UNCONSENTED SURGERY AT FORT SUTTER! Back in August of 2022 Dr. Clutter performed a septoplasty (deviated septum) and turbinate reduction surgery. After the surgery I have had severe facial pain and have been from specialist to specialist trying to find the cause. I finally saw a top ENT at Stanford University at the end of October 2023 and he said I also had sinus surgery done as well after putting a scope up my nose, which Dr Clutter never said was going to be done because he said my sinuses looked fine. The Dr at Stanford believes it's possible that I had damage to my trigeminal nerve (which is most common from septoplasties and sinus surgery). Since then I have been trying to find the signed surgery consent to see what I agreed to. Sac Ent said they do not have one and that is was Sutter Medicals responsibility since the surgery took place at their facility (FORT SUTTER) and are my insurance provider. So I contacted Sutter and they do not have it saying it was Sac Ent responsibility. So I had a surgery with NO signed consent and a surgery I was not even aware was going to happen. If I consented to this surgery I could live with the surgery not going as planned. But I did not have any signed consent, just trying to get this story out there so it doesn't happen to another patient. Very frustrating and...
Read moreI went yesterday morning for a surgery I had put off for 4 years. As I was waiting to be called, I was crying and was going to leave because if I didn't wake up, I would feel cheated, because if it's my time to go I'd rather have a count to 10 duel like in the old westerns. Heather called my name and from the moment I walked back there with her, my fear started to fade. She treated me like a good friend, I hadn't seen in a while, she had patience and thoroughly explained the steps and I felt important, then my surgeon came in with a big smile and eased my nerves more, lastly my anesthesiologist came and she was amazing too, I told her my fear of not waking up and she was sincere when she spoke about me waking up and staring to live a healthier happy life and that she'd be with me the whole time. I closed my eyes for a second, and opened them and saw the clock, it was 2 hours later and I was done. I instantly felt like a new person. This is a very good place to go, I will never forget how well I was treated and taken care of, even the woman who wheeled me all the way to the outside corner because my ride couldn't find his way into the building garage was cheery and kind. Thank all of you for an...
Read moreI was scheduled for an 2 hr outpatient procedure to cover a hole in my eardrum. It was scheduled about 2 months prior. I received a phone call the day before telling me the nearly $40,000 bill was newly posted on my account less than 24hrs before the procedure and asked how much I would like to put down that day. The charges included a $3k “microscope use fee add-on” and didn’t even include anesthesia or facility fees. The average total cost of this procedure is $10k or less. With my insurance applied, it conveniently charged me a bit over the exact amount of everything remaining in my out of pocket expenses (almost $4k). I ended up having to cancel my surgery that I’ve needed for years at the last minute due to the extremely poor communication from the surgery center and price gouging. I called my insurance company and they were not able to pull up the claim on their end. I will continue to look elsewhere for medical care and am very disappointed at the service I’ve...
