Myth & Legend Coffee isn’t just a café — it’s a love letter to flavor, comfort, and quiet moments shared over a perfect cup.
Nestled on the charming brick-lined Charlotte Street in historic downtown St. Augustine, this dreamy little spot wraps you in warmth from the moment you walk in. The space is cozy, intimate, and softly lit — the kind of place where conversations linger and time slows down. It’s the sort of coffee shop that feels like it belongs in a romantic novel.
The menu is thoughtful and full of heart. We fell in love with the Bagel Sandwich and The Bootlegger — each bite layered with bold, delicious flavors and just the right touch of heat, thanks to the jalapeño and garlic aioli. These aren’t just sandwiches; they’re comforting, crave-worthy creations that stay with you long after the last bite.
But the real magic? The Build Your Own Flight — four handcrafted drinks of your choice, like a symphony of flavors in one beautiful lineup. We chose matcha, toasted coconut, a seasonal latte, and the caramel latte — each one unique, smooth, and brewed with intention using beans from Because Coffee Co. It’s a true sensory experience — each sip like a whispered story told in layers of taste.
And what made our visit even more special? The people. Emma and Mak made us feel like regulars on our first visit, and Angela, the GM, came over personally to share the heartwarming story behind the café. That kind of connection stays with you.

The location itself is a hidden gem tucked into historic downtown—walking distance from the sights, but with a peaceful, relaxed vibe that makes it perfect for a break, catch-up, or casual bite.
The menu features a great selection of handcrafted coffee drinks, sandwiches, and light snacks. We tried The Bagel Sandwich and The Bootlegger—both were absolutely delicious! We added jalapeño and garlic aioli for an extra flavor kick, and we’re so glad we did.
One of the most fun parts of the visit was the Build Your Own Flight experience. You get to choose four drinks—we sampled the matcha toasted coconut, a caramel latte, and two seasonal options. Each one was distinct and full of flavor. Honestly, every single coffee was out of this world!

Read moreI'm always on the lookout for new coffee shops. While spending the weekend in St. Augustine, I stumbled upon this one night when it was closed. I knew I had to return the next morning to check it out. It seems they've only been open for about two months now.
I absolutely love the decor here. The ambiance and artwork evoke a slightly older era with a military and pioneering flair—some might even call it legendary. The drink I ordered, "The Genovar," perfectly fit the theme. To fully appreciate this drink, I recommend asking for it in a "for here" glass rather than a to-go cup; it made all the difference for me.
The two ladies at the counter were very helpful with my numerous questions about the menu. My wife ordered the light roast pour-over coffee, and we went with the barista's recommendation for which coffee to use, which was very helpful.
The only downside is that this place is 45 minutes from my house. I'll be thinking about "The Genovar" for a while. After some research, I found out that the drink is named after a nearby street "I think". The menu also features many other drinks with...
