The two stars are not for the candy, which are always delicious! The two stars are for the bad service I’ve received several times over the years. Although the candies are wonderful, the employees attitudes are always for the birds. This time took the cake, as a young man was working and acted irritated when we said we’d need help, and he immediately walked away, and had to come back to help us within a few seconds of us saying we’d need help. We began ordering and he acted confident that he could remember to grab every item we ordered, and when we’d pause to make sure not to overwhelm him, he’d tell us to continue as he was sure to get everything. Well no shock, the main thing we’d never tried and were excited for was never in the bag. We’re from Michigan and we always make sure to stop in, but it’s disappointing when you’re states away and open your bag to find things missing after an overconfident and arrogant employee assures you they’ll get everything. He also just shoved everything barely wrapped in tissue into the bag and everything fell out. It would’ve been appreciated if things would’ve been put into a box. It wasn’t very professional. If you’re looking for delicious candies, this is the place. Just be prepared for bad service and attitudes, and make sure to check that everything you order...
Read moreWalked in to this St Augustine Store because we are from Savannah, GA and have always loved the store that is behind Vinnie Van Go-Go’s in the DT area of Savannah. We have been there hundreds of times!
My husband and I Went in to get a praline. A young girl and guy are working. It’s Saturday night. My husband and I are the only people in the store. We asked if they have the same deal that is in Savannah, (Buy 1 lb, get 1/2 lb free). Very arrogant young lady..... “No! This store is not a part of that business.” The young guy walked up, “ Do you want anything?” I just bought a candy necklace for my granddaughter and looked at my husband and we walked out. It’s No Wonder the store is EMPTY! We went down the street to another store and found some delightfully wonderful Maple Pralines! Thanks for nothing! We live here now. We will never darken the door of your store again! Too much attitude. Maybe those two kids can read up on how to sell candy and what the word...
Read moreWe hadn't ever stopped in here before, as it's tucked off inside the entrance to Florida Cracker Cafe; and after yesterday, I'm kind of regretting that lack.
Just look at that Pecan Paw - it's HUGE. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but most of their sales are by weight, so if you dont want to pay as much, get a smaller treat OR a prepackaged option. The caramel is smooth, extremely buttery, and soft to bite. They put a huge amount on the Paws, and all their other portions are equally as generous. Half the counter is candies, the other half assorted fudge, and the packaged options line the walls from floor to ceiling. It is not a big space at all, so if there are others already inside, you might want to wait for some moving room. I was highly impressed with the assortment of options for the shop size. The girl behind the counter was extremely cheerful and helpful with questions while she worked. Definitely a top option for treats on St....
