Absolutely AWFUL establishment with poor management: We went on Saturday 04/06/24 at about 9:30. Going in, we realized it would be busy seeing as it's breakfast time, and it seems like half of Utah County is here for spring break. However, we ordered 7 bagels as-is (no sandwiches or drinks) and didn't walk out the door until 10:15. While there was a bit of a line when we got there, it was not to the extent that it should have taken 45 minutes to get through. When it was our turn to order (over 30 minutes later), multiple bagels weren't "stocked" so the employee didn't know what was on hand without having to go check. Additionally, the shmear cooler was completely picked over unless you wanted Chive or Jalapeño. (And yes, they had more in the back, but no one was stocking items yet again.) What really dug the knife in was getting to the register; by this point we had waited nearly 40 minutes. The employee at the register was eyeing us as we were selecting a tip option: Frankly, we did not leave a tip after waiting FORTY minutes for 7 PLAIN bagels that took less than 1 minute to bag. The employee looked at us, looked at the "None" tip option, then looked right back up at us, clearly offended. We had our bagels, but had to ask him for 2 the shmears that weren't in the cooler. He said, "oh.... uh yeah I'll be right back with those". We stepped just off to the side of the register assuming he'd only be a moment. Over a minute passed, and when he came "back", he HOPPED IN LINE MAKING SANDWICHES. He looked over at us when he did, and did not acknowledge us at all. (It is also worth mentioning that I did not see him wash his hands when he started making the sandwiches unless he did that in the back). Next, the girl who took his place at the register (when he was supposed to be getting shmear) annoyingly asked, "what are you still waiting for". We replied, "someone was going to bring our shmear from the back. He hasn't brought it yet". She very rudely said back, "Well, then can you just like wait off to the side". Mind you, we already stepped aside from the register, and there was ample room to help the next guest. We looked at each other very confused, because we were basically standing in front of the drink station at that point (and it's not like it should take more than 30 seconds to get cream cheese out of a fridge.) A few more minutes passed, and still no one came with shmear. We finally had to ask the girl making drinks if she could go get it for us, as it was obvious the first person wasn't and the girl at the register was completely unapproachable. She was back in less than 20 seconds.
Overall: This establishment is a hot mess. Employees are jumping from station to station with a look of fear in their eyes. I never saw a SINGLE hand-wash (Even from employees who were jumping from the register straight into handling food. Same goes for a girl who went from the register right into making drinks). It seems very unsanitary to me and it is absolute chaos. (One girl with very long hair had her hair sticking out from under her hat... I think that defeats the purposes of having your hair up??)
They need a manager who actually knows how to manage. This "restaurant" would highly benefit from having 1 person work each station. (1 taking orders 1-2 making sandwiches 1 on register 1 stocking items / being a "runner", 1 making drinks AND STAY THERE.) If they could implement a better system, that 40 minute line very easily could have been through in 20. I 100% would not go back, and I would recommend to our reps at work who frequently bring in food for the department to NOT bring it again. I would not trust that it was...
Read morePre ordered 2 Bakers Dozen of mixed bagels on Friday night for a Sunday morning pickup of 9-9:30. Told over the phone that they would be all set and ready for us and pre-sliced as I requested this. My husband dropped me off at church and went to pick up our order at around 9:40AM. Our order was not ready. The manager did admit he knew of the order, but that it slipped his mind that morning and so it was not taken care of. He did personally take care of the order and get everything done. But my husband had to wait, and the bagels were late due to this. ALSO, the pricing they have on their website is quite a price difference. About $4 per Bakers Dozen difference. When my husband mentioned this to the manager he said “well the online pricing may be different than the actual cost.” If I would have been waiting for the order I would have asked for the online price as it is what is advertised and also due to the error of not having our order ready. IF I would have been the manager I would have offered a discount price for the purchase we made due to what occurred. Just saying.
I did as suggested and went to email site and spent MORE time trying to get some satisfaction. Kinda mad to be honest. SO I went to the email you told me to go to AND HAVE not heard a word back at all! It seems as if I will get no satisfactory response even, let alone some type of refund for the order NOT being ready and the bagels arriving AFTER needed! So I’d actually like to LOWER my review for you rather than give you a better one. As manager don’t you have the ability to give a credit or gift card for your establishment??? So now I just...
Read moreThis place is awful. Really struggling to understand the value of a “customer”. I am sure they will continue to be in business only due to the Einstein name with no other bagel shop competing in St. George. It is immediately apparent that the manager/owner has a bad attitude as the employees reflect that. I was welcomed with signs on door and at counter scolding the customer to be grateful that employees have chosen to even show up to work during the labor Shortage. I remember a time where hard work says everything about your character. I was astounded that this was the position of this shop’s owners. As I waited over 45 min for 1 bagel toasted, I watched as chick fil-A right next door served car after car with a smile and a warm greeting making the customer feel that their business was valued. I decided to start counting the cars served in the time it took to acknowledge I had stepped into the establishment. I counted 15 cars and no one else was at counter. The gentleman behind me walked out . I finally gave my order and then continued to count chick fil-A’s service. I counted another 42 cars served in the time it took to place and receive an order of 1 bagel toasted. It’s a shame we have moved so far away from not appreciating the...
