Even if it’s just for a beer or two, you have to go to Woody’s. It’s an experience. As one waitress put it, “We’re a five-star dive bar!” That sums it up. The walls are covered with stickers and notes from past patrons, and the wait staff practically dances from table to table. Everyone seems happy at Woody’s.
We went in (12/29/23) for just a beer and some onion rings/tater tots. The rings and tots were perfectly done, and the portions were HUGE! While we were there, a guy came in and bought a round of pricey tequila shots for the house. When he found out my wife grew up in the same town as he did back in the States, he bought her another round, then left with a group of friends to go to some other bar. Later, as we were preparing to leave, he returned, and bought ANOTHER round for the house!
I don’t know if stuff like that always happens at Woody’s, but I’d go back just for the rings, tots, and beer. Great place,...
Read moreIn 2022, upon recommendation from staff at our hotel (Cruz Bay Boutique Hotel), my husband and I ate at Woody’s. We ordered the Fish and Chips and Crab Cake Sliders. The Fish and Chips were out of this world! The fish is fried to perfection and has the perfect amount of breading and crispness. The tartar sauce is amazing! The sauce is not what we are used to but is equally great (if not better)! Their curly fries are wonderful and fresh. Also, their “straight” fries are delicious with a great combination of salty spices. It’s hard to pick the best but I think the straight fries were our favorite of the 2!
The crab cakes were good too but I wouldn't get those again. We talked about the fish and chips all year and came back for 2nds (and 3rds) in 2023! The environment is a little rowdy (which is expected since it is a bar) but we got it to go and enjoyed it back at our hotel. We...
Read moreI had the shark bites, conch fritters and seasoned fries. The shark bites are chunks of Mahi drenched in Adobo. The flavor of the Adobo was extremely overpowering. It was way too much and made it hard for me to enjoy it, even after dipping it in seafood sauce. Perhaps they should ease up on the Adobo or, better yet, use a different combination of spices. Its hard to enjoy your food when all you taste is spice and no other flavors. The conch fritters where mostly balls of fried filler and very little conch. There are supposes to be chunks of conch, instead I tastes one or two slivers of maybe conch and the rest was all filler and breading. The seasoned fries were okay. Other than that, the waitress/bartender was nice and very friendly. I definitely plan to go back one more time and try something different off of the menu before I decide Woody's...
