Usually part of the dining out experience is the smell of the food as it is whisked by your table by the wait staff. At Rocking Crab it is the mystery of what is in the cloudy bag as it breezes by your table. This is a no frills come as you are type if place. That by no means relates to the fresh seafood, creative flavors and amazing service here. Our food while served a few minutes apart (my catfish apparently put up a fight), was hot perfectly seasoned and fresh. We ordered two different mixed drinks. My husband's mango Mai Tai was great. My Hurricane something or other tasted like a hairspray perfume cocktail. My drink was whisked away and replaced with nary a glance or a raised eye. My husband had the blue Crab/ snow crab combo with the cilantro lime seasoning with the medium spice. I thought I had exhausted all the ways to use cilantro. Sweet, savory, hot, cold. Nope, seafood. And not in a cold ceviche! Hot, with some old bay and lime! Amazing! Good job!

10/10 – Highly Recommend! SERVICE: Greg is the bomb! He seated us with a warm welcome and even shared great local tips since we're visiting from out of town. Bryan, our server, was incredibly attentive and went the extra mile to ensure the crab boil was prepared without salt—huge bonus! FOOD: The crab legs were unbelievably fresh and delicious. Just look at those cakun crab legs!!!!! Finga lickn goodgood!! Everything we ordered was spot-on, and we appreciated the fair pricing on canned sodas. We were genuinely impressed and are so looking forward to the return of their themed events—especially the drag shows! We’ll absolutely be back for the live entertainment. This spot is now saved as a favorite in our maps—can’t wait to return!

HORRIBLE EXPENSIVE LUNCH. Overpriced but was celebrating a birthday. 18 dollars per 3inch lobster tail that was so overcooked I couldn't even scrap the meat off of the shell. I actually had the server come over and watch as I tried with a fork. I have eaten lobster hundreds of times in my life and it falls out of the shell. She admitted it was bad but no manager came out to talk to us and we were the only 2 in the restaurant. Sixty dollars a piece I could have went to a high end great restaurant. I don't know how this place has so many great reviews. Look at my picture I couldn't even scrape the meat off. Nobody even cared to come talk to me. Server was very sweet though. No management cared . Really unbelivable.

HOSPITALIZED AFTER EATING ROCKING CRAB

A month ago, after dining at Rocking Crab, I suffered severe food poisoning, acid reflux, persistent nausea, and stomach pain that lasted for weeks. I was unable to keep food down without gagging and experiencing regurgitation, ultimately requiring hospitalization due to the extreme discomfort. The symptoms appeared almost immediately after leaving the restaurant, leading me to believe the bad fish and snow crab legs I consumed were the cause of my illness. While, going to the bathroom here I noticed a family of rats run across to the bar area, this should’ve been a SIGN to leave! Upon conducting further research, I discovered alarming health violations during a recent inspection at Rocking Crab, including the presence of dead and live roaches, rodent droppings, unsanitary conditions with greasy, unclean coolers, and improperly sanitized dishwashers. Furthermore, staff were observed neglecting basic hygiene practices, such as failing to wash hands before handling food, and there were deficiencies in their certification and employee health reporting protocols. These violations underscore the critical need for strict health standards and inspections in the food service industry to ensure public safety. The reckless disregard for health and safety at Rocking Crab is inexcusable, and it is vital that the restaurant takes full responsibility for its actions to prevent future harm to unsuspecting customers. I will never EVER trust Rocking crab again after this traumatic experience. Whenever I ride past this place my stomach starts to turn over and I get extremely nauseous. 1000% would not recommend. If you have someone in mind that you have it out for give them a Rocking Crab gift card! AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!

I don't know where to begin. We walked in, asked for a table for two and were given a time range of 20 minutes to an hour, then the hostess slid a piece of paper across the stand for me to write down my name, party size, and pager number that she handed me. We decided to find seats at the bar since it wasn't busy there. After 15 minutes, the manager asked if we needed menus, but by that time we'd looked it up online. He walked away to tell the "bartender" we were there (she walked past us multiple times checking on the people around us). We asked for gin and seltzers and put in our food order. After another ten minutes, she came back to tell us that they were out of seltzer. We were genuinely confused and asked if their soda guns were broken. She seemed to understand we wanted fizzy water and went to make the drinks. Another 10 minutes later, she handed us a heavy pour of gin in flat water. We watched people who sat after us get their appetizers (and likely our order of oysters as we watched our neighbors pick up a few to look at them then shoved the tray aside without eating them). The manager asked if everything was okay and we explained about the drinks. He apologized and dumped them then went to make replacement drinks. He brought us gin and tonics. The bartender avoided us for the 20 minutes we watched another round of apps come out to people who sat after us. We finally got her attention and asked and she said that the food runner was bringing things out as they were ready (she was running food to the bar seats). She went to check on our food and said it hadn't been started yet so we canceled our order and asked for the check. There was a $6 upcharge on top shelf liquor (Bombay) that we likely didn't get so the two drinks were $25. Left this place completely...

Used to be a loyal customer, when the rocking crab first opened the food and service was exceptional patronized the restaurant several times a month. The turnover with staff is a real issue you never see the same folks working there. I'm glad people are working, but Everytime we've gone there it's someone new ad in a few days working there new, we now now more about the menus than the staff. Raw oysters should come with horse radish, lemon and cocktail sauce, clam chowder & crackers, calamari with dipping sauce. There seems to be no guidance or training to work there. That's on the ownership for sending unprepared staff to take and serve orders. Another critical issue is the consistency and quality of the food it's been degrading over the last year. A member of our family ordered fryed catfish as they usually do ( IT Was unrecognizable and uneatable) the rest of the meal were mediocre at best. It a real shame we used to look forward to going there for a nice meal, not anymore, it's time to find a restaurant that deserves our time and money which is a difficult thing to do anymore. So if you're in the mood for seafood try your luck somewhere else, a fish sandwich from one of the burger joints will...
