McAlister's Deli — Restaurant in Salina

I did a pick up order for my lunch break today and I wasn't impressed. I did the pick two option and did a potato and paid extra for a bowl of soup instead of the cup. I ordered a side of mac and cheese and a sweet tea as well. When I went to pick up my order I was reassured that all of my items were in my bag after I had asked, so I went back to my office. When I got back I checked the bag and I am missing my mac and cheese and my soup was just a cup when I paid extra to have the bowl. I called the store to see if I could talk to the manager and the lady on the phone wouldn't let me speak to one, she asked what she could do before I talked to a manager. She said the best thing that she could do was put my name down for a free bowl of soup and mac and cheese, for their mess up. For this being my first experience at McAlister's I don't think I will be returning. My food was honestly nothing special and way overhyped. The only good part about my lunch was...

We first tried a Mccalisters at the Manhattan location, but this one is a lot closer to home for us so we happened to go to this one…..we have since been back about 3 times in like a month 😅😅 the food is DELICIOUS, but the staff is truly something else!! Every single time we’ve come our food has been out to us within MINUTES of ordering….I've sat in like as McDonald’s for longer and the quality here is LEAPS AND BOUNDS beyond regular fast food!! The staff have been so friendly every single time, they check in like it’s a full on restaurant, the place is always clean, the food is never lacking, the manager is so kind and gives all credit back to his staff…..I feel like this is a true GEM that probably gets overlooked more than it should!! My wife and I stopped in for dinner one evening. After waiting an absurdly long time for the 2 customers in front of us to go through the line (the staff was in no hurry...to the point of frustration for us). Our order consisted of the nacho basket, a dinner salad for my wife and I had a sandwich with mac and cheese. Our nacho basket was a plate of corn chips with watery cheese on the side. When I questioned the manager about the cheese, I was informed "that's just how it is". After a brief conversation they agreed to refund my money for the nachos (we didn't eat any of them). My wife's salad contained pieces of the lettuce "heart" if you know what that is, which was disappointing. My sandwich was ok. The mac and cheese was again, super runny. In summary, it was over-priced cafeteria food with poor service. With all the options in Salina, I don't see us going back for...
