While the food was enjoyable, there were a few areas that could use some improvement.

Firstly, parking at Chile-Tepin can be quite challenging. The lot is often crowded, and it's common to see cars triple-parked, making it difficult to find a spot. Keep this in mind and allow extra time for parking. Go before 5 pm.

I had made a reservation for a group, and despite noticing many empty tables in the dining room about 15 minutes before our reservation, we were not invited to be seated until the rest of our party arrived. This was a bit strange and seemed unnecessary since there was ample space available.

While waiting for our group, I was looking forward to enjoying margaritas. Sadly, we were informed that we couldn't be seated until everyone had arrived. This was disappointing, as it would have been nice to relax and sip on margaritas while waiting. We ended up walking around outside and sitting in our car.

On the positive side, the food at Chile-Tepin was good. I particularly enjoyed the flavors and quality of the dishes. The menu offered a variety of options that pleased everyone in our group.

However, towards the end of our meal, we felt rushed out, which affected our experience while trying to catch up with old friends. It would have been nice to have more time to enjoy our meal and in the company of our friends.

Another small issue we encountered was the lack of a changing table in the restroom. This posed a challenge for one of our friends who had a small baby. Not having a proper facility meant she had to find an alternative way to change her baby, which added unnecessary stress and extended our stay.

In conclusion, Chile-Tepin offers good food, but there are a few areas that could use improvement. The handling of reservations could be more accommodating, and it would be nice if they allowed guests to be seated while waiting for the rest of their party. Additionally, providing a changing table in the restroom would be beneficial for families with young children. Despite these issues, the flavors and quality of the food make Chile-Tepin worth considering for a meal.

Another note - there are only stairs to enter. This will pose a challenge to anyone with...

It was a girls night out with my friend last night. I have been to this restaurant several times but it was my friends first time been here. The service was a major disappointment! We checked in at the front desk before 7:30PM and the waiting list was about 40% filled out. We were told it will take 25 minutes to be seated and we were okay with it. We went a few doors down to a supermarket for about 10-15 minutes while we waited. I went inside to ask if our name was called after the supermarket and I was told not yet by the greeting staff. We waited outside, standing by the big window with other patrons waiting as well. There were several names called but not ours. Patrons that weren't there before us started getting seated. It seemed odd to us but we kept our patience and waited hoping to be seated. We realized the patrons outside waiting were getting smaller. I went back inside to tell the greeter we haven't been seated after almost an hour. I looked at the waiting list and noticed my name was crossed out. The waiting list is now 100% filled out and new names have been added to the side as well. I asked the greeter why my name was crossed out when we aren't seated, her response was, oh it seems someone else took our seat and this happens alot at the restaurant. The greeter had waitresses around her this time and they seemed annoyed that we were asking to be seated. I was really surprised and irritated at that point, as there wasn't an apology and they made it seem like it's our fault this happened. The staff looked annoyed with us and acted like we had the audacity to even talk to them. They cleared out a table and we were finally seated and it was uncomfortable at this point as they kept staring at us most of the night. Nobody came to our table to apologize for the inconvenience they created for us. This experience and service was so horrible and I will never go back again the way we were treated. I'm very disappointed and it ruined our...

This place has pretty good food. Been here twice. Once on a Saturday for dinner and a Friday for lunch. Saturday was super packed. The wait was two hours. The food was fantastic. The place was super loud because it was super crowded. We went with a party of eight and the space on the table was very limited. I had to send away some of my dishes because they didn’t fit on the table, but their customer service is amazing, the food on the Saturday was amazing. The tortillas were perfectly warm, but the amount of the food is not enough. The first time I got the Molcajete, which had Carne Asada chicken shrimp, a piece of cheese and some jalapeños. The amount of carne asada was super tiny. Iliterally left hungry . on Monday, I decided to order the parillada thinking that would give me more Carne Asada, but it was the same very little Carne Asada. I mean it was literally literally like a 2 x 2 piece of meat two pieces one for myself and one for the person who was sharing the plate with me the chicken was a little more. Don’t order the Horchata. They don’t make it fresh. I think it’s powder. The Carne Asada taste absolutely incredible. Their beans are incredible. The flavors are incredible. I just wish they would give more meat for the price that they charge. Very very small portions for dishes that...

@chiletepin is arguably the best Mexican restaurant in all of Utah. Located in the heart of Salt Lake City at the Crane building, if you are passionate about Mexican food as much as I am, you would be a silly goose to miss out. Everything I had there was nothing short of amazing. My favorites: - Molcajete - Parraillada - Toritos - Queso Fundido Where: Chile Tepin 307 W 200 S Salt Lake City, UT Don’t forget about this place by bookmarking it by tapping the banner/flag on the bottom right of the video ! #foodyfellowship #chiletepin #utaheats #fyp #slcfood #slceats #slcfoodie
