My recent trip to Salt Lake City, Utah 07/10, intended as a joyous celebration for my fiancé's birthday, unfortunately began with significant distress. We had initially booked accommodations through a partner hotel of Marriott, which, to our dismay, led to an incredibly negative experience. The sister property, Salt Lake City Marriott City Center, made deeply upsetting and unfounded accusations against me, turning what should have been a memorable occasion into a source of considerable stress and disappointment. However, the situation took a dramatic turn for the better thanks to the extraordinary intervention of the AC Hotel Salt Lake City management team, specifically Manager Ailine Tauteoli and Supervisor Justin Burton. Their actions not only salvaged our trip but also provided a profound lesson in true hospitality and customer care.
Upon learning of our predicament and the unfair treatment we had endured, Ailine Tauteoli and Justin Burton demonstrated an unparalleled level of empathy and professionalism. Despite the previous hotel's damaging remarks, they chose to look beyond the immediate situation and, instead, focused on our needs as guests. They extended a warm welcome, treating us with the respect and dignity we deserved, and made us feel genuinely valued. This compassionate approach was a stark contrast to our earlier experience and immediately began to alleviate the immense stress we had been carrying. Their ability to see past a difficult situation and prioritize guest well-being is a hallmark of exceptional service and a testament to their leadership qualities.
The impact of their actions cannot be overstated. In a moment of vulnerability and frustration, Ailine and Justin provided a sanctuary of understanding and support. They exemplified what it means to go above and beyond, transforming a potentially ruined birthday celebration into a positive and memorable one. Their dedication to guest satisfaction and their unwavering commitment to upholding the highest standards of hospitality truly set the AC Hotel Salt Lake City apart. This experience underscores the critical role that empathetic and proactive management plays in shaping a guest's perception and loyalty. It is clear that the AC Hotel Salt Lake City, under the guidance of individuals like Ailine Tauteoli and Justin Burton, is a beacon of outstanding customer service in the hospitality industry. Thanks for welcoming us and we will...
Read moreWhen I arrived at the front Desk was extremely rude aside from not have room for me and telling me I can be seated in the lobby until they found a room for me possibly that day. He explained to me that if I left and someone else came in that room would be given to them. When I was checked in, only after a call to corporate, was very flippant and extremely rude like I had imposition to him. Arriving to my room I was in such a hurry I didn’t notice how nasty the room still was. There was no toilet paper, there was dirt on the floor, dust on everything in the room. I now wonder if the sheets were even clean! The next day housekeeping came in and “cleaned” there were still dirt on the floor every surface still have dust, all the glass and stainless was still smudge and smeared. My bathroom was dirty they did however replace my toilet paper, and take my soiled linens. Which they did not replace. And never came and replaced. I did chase down the cart and get some towels and soap on my own. After talking to the front desk on my way out that morning and explaining this problem and asking for a blanket the front desk told me that I have a thermostat in my room and explain to me how to work it On the last night of my say my neighbors had a very loud and spirited conquest next-door including extremely loud music. After three calls to the front desk between 10 PM and 2 AM they offered to move ME! Upon check out a mousy redheaded girl at your front desk gave me a very condescending bottom lip pouty face with every one of my complaints that I expressed to her with a “Awww, I’m sorry” At the very end handed me a card to the assistant general manager. Who I’m hoping will return my call soon. Trust me I’m not holding my breath. After that experience I know exactly how motivated the staff the hotel truly is. I was never greeted by the front desk when walking in and out and it was not friendly. The cornerstones of hospitality if not already should be take care of your guests and treat them well, Or to the Internet they will go with every complaint and problem for the whole world to view and see. That all of your issues and shortcomings will be broadcast. Needless to say I will never return to that...
Read moreThe AC brand is a truly refreshing take on hotel presentation, and the resultant atmosphere that this vision has created is reflected wonderfully in this property. The open lobby and bar area is really quite catching and refreshing, and the AC specifically blended signature scent is a real pleasure to be around. Even more so than the Westin's. The check in staff during my visit on the 16th of March could not have been more helpful, the young man (Dylan I believe) gave me good room advice and moved me to a better location. He even helped find a credit card I had misplaced.
The corner king rooms are really stunning with the floor-to-ceiling windows with good view and the open floor concept. The bed was comfortable, and the toiletries were notably brilliant. Parking is a tad odd. It is in a separate building's underground facility that requires your room key, and there is a charge.
Overall this property has a good strong character that makes you feel like you're somewhere special, and distinctly urbane. It is important for me to say that those who prefer the more traditional hallmarks of a good hotel may actually find it a negative, or cold & discomforting; so be sure to check out pictures. For example it is relatively minimalist and pays attention to design maybe slightly more than function. Things like a square toilet, shallow sink, open closet etc... But I had an absolutely lovely time, and will keep my eye out for AC hotel locations during my travels...
