This was honestly the worst shopping experience I've had in recent memory. I went in with five massive bags worth of clothing to see what of it they wanted to buy. The main young woman interacting with me was so rude and disinterested. I was showing her two of the articles of clothing in particular and explaining to her that these were made by a famous designer from Istanbul and the articles cost about $200 USD each (I didn't explain this part). She acted like I was the biggest idiot in the world or like I was trying to sell her something; I was just sharing how interesting and unique the articles of clothing were. They look like clothing from the movie Dune.
She looked at me total deadpan as if I had punched her in the face and said, "okay so go over there and put your number in the machine". They then told me it would be 30-45 min of a wait and that I had to wait in the store. As a side note āĀ this policy seems silly to me. The other day when I was going to go in they said it would be a 2-3 hour wait and I would have to wait in the store as a first time buyer. Why? Why not send a text or a phone call? Like what's the worst that could happen? I leave a bunch of clothing there that they then have to donate? Silly inconvenient policy.
Anyway, 5 minutes go by and the girl had disappeared but another girl tells me they're not interested in any of the articles of clothing. Mind you, this is probably 200 articles of clothing, much of it is designer, much of it is in great condition. There's no way they could've gone through it all in 5 minutes. I truly believe this girl was so perturbed by my exuberant positive energy wanting to share with her the story of how I got these clothes from this famous Istanbul designer (I even said after her rude response "you don't seem interested in these clothes" to which she didn't respond) that she said they wouldn't take anything.
Now I was looking around the store and they have a ton of junk. My clothing would have elevated this store. I'm not being cocky I'm just saying like it is. This felt petty. I was so flabbergasted that I just wound up letting them donate the entire 5 bags worth to charity. I could have taken a bunch back and sold at a different store and I probably should have. Also I wouldn't be surprised if they went and took a bunch of it out of the bags to sell (without having paid me).
All in all it was the rudest customer service rep ever. Because it wasn't even like she seemed angry or having a bad day. That I get. But this level of coldness was so deep so as to inspire me to write this 1 star review which I never do. All in all, a terrible experience and I won't be coming back to this store. I was there on 1/15/24 and this short petite brunette I'm not sure her name was the one who now holds the crown of "Ice Queen". It was the kind of interaction that threatened to turn my amazing day completely upside down. Just be a real human it's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhere to even begin...I think Downtown AND Uptown Cheapskate have to be some sort of case study in how horrifically a business can be run when uneducated millennials, who are more concerned with the positioning of their stupid crop tops than actual work, are at the helm of a business. Everyone in here has some incredibly misplaced sense of entitlement. You're all children, and the adults that have to deal with you when they come in begin to slowly develop an acute fear for the future of this country out of your complete lack of responsibility and maturity. I went in to sell some clothes and was told the "certified buyer" wasn't in yet because "she rides her bike to work and gets in a little late." Now every human with a smidge of rational thinking is saying to their self...well if she uses a slower means of transportation why doesn't she just leave earlier? But people, she is the certified-freaking-buyer at a resell clothing store ran by Mumford and Sons fans. She's certified in buying used Forever 21 sundresses and Old Navy leggings, so calm down peasants, she'll get there when she damn well pleases. This place is a deplorable joke and a standing testament to the total childish lack of maturity which currently plagues teens-20 somethings in this country. We don't need Trump because 19 year olds wearing their dad's fishing cap to look "unique" are making America great- again one certified...
Ā Ā Ā Read moredonāt ever sell your stuff here they give you a very unreasonable deal every single time. I recently purchased a pair of Lululemon leggings that I never wore, and I went back to resell them to the store because they did not fit me and they were in the exact condition that I bought them in and they would not take them back as a resale item. I have brought in many of brand new jeans and clothing that Iāve never worn before and they offer me nine dollars in cash for jeans that cost me $85 brand new never worn. No need to toot my own horn here, but I am very into fashion and I know what is in style and trending. Needless to say the clothes on the shelf are nowhere worth the price tag. lastly, I will add that I brought in my clothing and left while they sorted through it and told them not to touch anything while I was away until I made a decision on what to do with it. I came back to the store when it was ready for pick up and they had already tagged all my items and put them on the floor for over $20 apiece and offered me $20 in cash. Most places in Salt Lake wonāt give you much money for your items at the end of the day, but there are places that will definitely give you more and understand the value of...
