Extremely disappointing. After 3 parrots closed I was hoping this place would be comparable and in some ways it was, similar menu and drinks. But in other ways it was a total let down. The food, for one, was disgusting. The quesadilla had something they called "garlic sauce" which was basically mayonnaise and the girl who took our order said it couldn't be left off. The sopapillas were drenched in frosting, something we have never seen and the 8 year old ridiculed mercilessly. But to be fair, my shrimp tacos were okay but just okay. I ordered a margarita, it tasted like watered down minute made lemonade. I have my doubts about if actual taquila was even used or if this was one of those pre-mixed ones you buy in the plastic tub at the liquor store. The way service is set up is poorly organized, you pay right away and they ask for a tip at the register before you realize that you will essentially be serving yourself. Staff did come around and ask, somewhat disingenuously, if everything is alright but that hardly warrented the 20% I customarily give. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, the name alone "fuzzy's taco shop" sounds like a sexual innuendo thought up by a stoned teenager, and the food matches. I could go on but it is beyond me how a place like this is in business when there are so many...
Read moreI absolutely love Fuzzy's and eat there way too often. I always get the same burrito. However, at my last visit on 1/29/2022, my burrito was almost unrecognizable. For starters, it was less than half the size it usually is. Most of the same ingredients were there but the burrito had a LOT of juice in it. Not sure if it was grease or some new sauce, but it was very watery. The tortilla was also greasy and appeared as if they had attempted to grill the outside. Overall, it looked like a failed attempt at making a Taco Bell burrito. I'm not sure if this is an intentional change in the recipe or if this was just a one time thing. The burrito tasted okay, but it's not something I would order again if this is how they will be made going forward.
Update: I just tried the burrito again at Fuzzy's. It still wasn't as good as they usually are, but it was much better than my last one! My faith in Fuzzy's is restored! Also, the staff was amazing as usual. The manager, Teresa was very friendly and helpful.
Update on 4/1/22: I've been back to Fuzzy's at least 10 times since my last update. The burritos lately have been life changing! Better than they were before my first review, and HUGE! I can't eat a whole one by myself. Luckily I always have someone...
Read moreNot impressed. The cashier was nice enough and super friendly. She made recommendations as it was my first time there.. the food, largely mediocre. Imagine fast food on par with taco bell with a twist (this is Tex-Mex at it's worst).
The tacos were bland topped with a plethora of fresh veggies, sad but the veggies were the best thing about the tacos. I had the chicken tacos with a side of rice and borracho beans. My food was served ice cold..the beans were swimming in the thinnest watery unappetizing sauce I've ever seen.
My husband ordered brisket nachos, an order of churros and soppapia bites. The soppias were gummy and drenched in way too much cinnamon/sugar concoction. The nachos were topped with bland chunks of brisket, feta cheese crumbles with white queso (weird combination I know, and not in a good way). The brisket was flavorless..Texas is known for great brisket, you can even find great brisket in any gas station or grocery store..but apparently not at Fuzzy's. We both decided it was an underwhelming meal..even for Tex-mex.
There are several things ALL Texans take very seriously..brisket, tacos and beans yet this Tex-mess didn't get any of them right. Do...
