If you don't know you need to know this is the place to be at on the weekends. This retro 🎆club/bar🍻 is so unique that it feels like you're stepping back in time⏱️⌛ as soon as you walk into this establishment. Yet don't get me started on some of the classic 🎮free retro games they have at this club. Yet to be exact Pac-Man🎮 Street Fighter are some of the classic games they have here. Yet the music is definitely some heart pounding music from back in the day. And did I mention they also play 80's 90's, etc, and early two thousand music here. O' wait there's more this is two clubs/bars in one, thus meaning, you also get to jam out to some fire latino music and chill calm reggaeton music by simply walking over to their secondary; bar/club, that is within the same building. Although don't take my word for all I'm saying just show up and find out for yourself about this club. Also bring your friends and family for a great time at Be Kind & Rewind just remember this club is 21+ and up.🎆 Yet I'll end this review by giving a huge shout out to a few people I personally knew there, specifically (GM) Mr. chris and Assistant (GM) Mr. Adrian, as well as Managers, Alex, Camille, Jrod, Angel, Javi, etc. And of course a huge shout out to the current security team that keeps this place safe, I see y'all keep up the great work.😁 👮👮‍♀️ Yet also a major shout-out to the staff members, bar tenders,...

Visiting from Illinois, my journey to Be Kind Rewind, San Antonio's 80s-themed nightclub, promised a trip down memory lane. However, what I encountered was far from the nostalgic retreat I had envisioned.

The music was my first surprise. Anticipating a night filled with 80s classics, I was instead greeted by an onslaught of mid-2000s hip hop, played at a volume that would make a rock concert seem quiet. The DJ appeared to have mixed up the decades, much to my (and my eardrums') dismay.

Regarding the crowd, those tales of Texas being a land of stunning beauties? Well, this club must have missed the memo. The patrons were a far cry from the glamorous figures I'd been led to expect, resembling the familiar, everyday folks of Illinois more than any runway models.

The crowd's demeanor was equally as unremarkable. The younger patrons, a sea of 20-somethings, dressed identically in what must be the latest influencer-inspired fashion, moved in a monotonous synchrony. Mixed among them were the older men, post-divorce, who awkwardly attempted to blend in and woo women half their age.

Attempting conversation in this environment was a futile endeavor. Over the booming bass of 2000s hip hop, any attempt at dialogue was reduced to a shouting match, and even then, understanding each other was a game of chance.

In summary, Be Kind Rewind is less a nostalgic 80s experience and more a confusing mix of loud music and a crowd that's far from the Texan stereotype. For those seeking a true 80s vibe or a glamorous night out, this might not be the right venue. But if you're in for a night of loud tunes and diverse people-watching, give it a try. Just don't expect a fashion show, and remember to pack...

I am a local to San Antonio for 10 years now and this is one of the place I love to go and relax over a busy work schedule, today I had a very worst experience at this place with the security staff, seems like they recently changed the security people and I haven't seen any of the security people before there, this balck lean man at the back of the bar saw me with a drink in my hand and inside the bar and he came to me and said he is throwing me out of this bar and I asked why and he said I was sleeping in the bar. I went in 15min ago with my friends and that was my first drink and I payed 54$ for 3 drinks. I asked him if he has the right info and he said its a private property and he can throw anyone out whenever he want. I hope the management of this business see this review and check the videos and see what went wrong another thing I noticed is that with the new security guard intentionally misbehaving to many people out there which is a long term silent killer of this business, I am sure you realize how hard it hitted when we went through the covid. Long story short I wouldn't go to this bar anymore. Sadly it was a bad day and a toughest decision to make. I know nothing is going to change for the business but it is just for making my self satisfied. If anyone had the same experience I would say please share it so at least another person day and money and his dignity get saved. Good luck to San Antonio downtown...

I’ve been here before and had a blast! We had bartenders that were interactive with us and suggested as great drinks. We had a fun time looking around because it’s really cool on the inside, but this time we went I was really upset. This was the third bar I went to on a Tuesday night that I couldn’t get any service at. I could understand if it was a Friday or Saturday night but it was a Tuesday night we went there because our friend who never goes out decided to come out with us and we wanted to take him to this bar. We walked up on the backside and it said that they were closed for a private party which is fine. I get it, however, when I looked inside, there was nobody in there. We went someplace else had a couple drinks and on our way back. I decided to swing in there to ask when the private party would be done and when I walked in, there was absolutely nobody in there and they were mopping the floor, even though they’re still technically open until two, this was probably around 11:30 . I asked the person mopping is the private party done they said yes, but they’re closed and I was very confused as to why they were closed. Why wouldn’t they want more business? Needless to say I had a really shitty night, but I was more disappointed that this bar was closed.

Horrible experience!!! RACIST I was walking on the street and saw the "Be Kind &Rewind " sign. There are some stairs to get in the bar. So I stepped up the stairs and tried to see the atmosphere. And then this african american woman started screaming like crazy to me like I did something wrong. Apparently, she was a security or something like that, but when I stepped up the stairs she was so busy having a conversation with someone else doing I don't know what except her job so she didn't even see me until I was up. She was really rude and I ask why you were screaming at me so badly. I didn't do anything wrong. I asked her also to respect me because I didn't do anything that she told me not to do it. It was definitely a racist act against my Latino ethnicity. She was just so loud that I would never go back here and I will advise all the people I know not to come and support this kind of business. Afte I ask why she screaming at me she call the police on me and she told me to go to and to sh.... th.... fk.... she also rece her middle finger to offend me. I really hope management picks better their employees and take in consideration that Latino are majority in the city and just as white and black we all need to be respected.
