First and foremost my review is not going to be based on the food but I do want to mention that the beef fajita quesadilla we order was delicious and a good portion size Unfortunately my review I will be giving today is based on the service we received. Sometimes while restaurants should be commended on food, service is very important as well. The waitress that waited on us, while very kind didn't seem to know how to do her job at all! We order alcohol beverages. While we wait, She brought us some chips and salsa. And then waited a good 10 if not more minutes for our alcoholic beverages to arrive. As we chomped down on those chips our throats got dry and we did not even had water, to kind of help down those chips particles, that were stuck in our throats go down. I look around for my waitress and she was no where to be found! Our throats were so dry I was afraid at one point my mother going to choke from the chip as she began to cough a bit. Finally she pops up with our drinks. Thank God we were able to alleviate the dryness in our throats. So we carry on in conversation. I would say food prep and time was adequate nothing at of the ordinary there. So we get our food and talk and conversate. She never came back 2 check up on us at all. I accidentally spill my drink. Of course no one's fault and I put no blame on no one. I get my 1 napkin drying table and myself. I'm looking around in despair hoping to find my waitress 4 more napkins. Of course she is no here to be found. This awesome waiter, Adrian, quickly noticed my face and noticed that I needed some help. So he came to my aid. I felt like a glimpse of Hope had arrived and he was my galloping knight and shining armor. He gave me a towel to clean the table, and he said don't worry I'll be back to get you some more towels so that you can clean yourself off. now he wasn't able to come back to me but he did make sure to send someone else to my aid w/towels. 10 minutes later my waitress shows up with some napkins and say oh I heard you needed some napkins. I look at her with a sarcastic pissed off look and said no thank you I've already been taken care of. I kindly asked for the check, and I asked if there was military discount. She said there was and needed approval from the manager. And that he would have to come by. I thought yay what a great opportunity for me to talk to him about his waitress. However she comes back and she says I've been authorized to do the discount I just need to see your ID. I show her my ID. I ask to see the itemized bill and she says no one ever ask. I said well I'm not everyone. I like to see what I am paying for. Than I start calculating the tip on my phone. She says or there is the suggested amounts right there ma'am. I ignore her. Because obviously I cringe at the fact that I even wanted to tip her in the first place. Now I'm not trying to be difficult. I know that waitressing can be a hard job. However like everyone else we choose our jobs whether we like them or not. If you don't like your job then leave. If not put on a hat, suck it up buttercup and do the best you can to the best of your ability. I never tried to be a difficult customer and I always tip generously. But today with a heavy heart I honestly could not and did not. I ask to speak to the manager but they were all over the place, so I just told another young lady to convey the message that our waitress needs more training and I mention Adrian and how he was amazing for not even be my waiter. I than go into the bathroom before I leave. The manager did catch me on my way out. I did explain the situation. And I was offered an apology and told she was new. All I want to say that if you eat here ask for Adrian and tip him well he is well worth it. As for management thank you for the apology but know the only reason I recommend your establishment is because of Adrian! An apology doesn't replace the experience I had while entertaining my mother while she was visiting from out of town. To Adrian if they don't know your worth, go find a place that does. Many...
Read moreWe were visiting the river walk, party of eight. Decided to try some food based on the menu outside. I ordered water with extra lemon to drink. I got the water and no lemon. I reminded the girl, and she took my water, kinda acknowledged it but then brought nothing again no water even. . She brought my sister in law the wrong enchiladas( my sister in law still attempted to eat them because the server didn’t seem to understand the error and it was becoming frustrating), they brought my nephew enchiladas without chicken when he asked for chicken ( they fixed that order) and my husband’s burger was not to have ham, pineapple, tomato nor cheese. The girl goes Mexican hamburgers have cheese! I said ok good but MY husband can’t eat that! She goes fine I’ll take it back!! (Kinda with attitude in her reply) So another girl comes by and I say it doesn’t list cheese anyway she goes yes it does it says asado or asadero ( not queso which to our family means cheese). I said regardless it was not to have it on the burger which I stated else my husband gets ill. She goes ok they are working on it. The first girl then who is not working with us anymore but she passes by and shoots a hard glance my way as if I’m causing trouble for her!! Eye daggers! So they finally bring my husband’s food out and he takes a bite and chews it spits that bite out and pulls out the slice of ham. We had said from the beginning no cheese, pineapple, tomato or ham. Clearly. This is the second “Tex-mex or Mexican” restaurant that we visited in Texas that got our orders wrong. I told the girl (second girl) my husband bit the burger with ham, he may get sick but still survive. She was like “oh ok”. No empathy no concern, very non chalant about everything. No further questioning “is there anything I can do to make it better? nothing!” My sister in law has been in restaurant and hospitality management for over 30 years, it was disturbing to see that just any young people are hired. They fill the position. It feels as if let’s get you in and get you out. And they don’t care. They don’t care that if business losses a customer because A) they figure the business has plenty of money and B) it’s not their problem. However it is cause in the long run nobody addresses this, and little by little they get used to performing and providing service this way. Then, before you know it it does affect the business, negatively. I won’t be coming back. I don’t think I’m the first to deal with this subpar level of service. I probably won’t be the last but people will catch on. Chips had a terrible chemical after taste too. Who knows what they are using to fry them in. Very sad experience. Texas is amazing for bbq but from what I can tell so far Tex Mex or Mexican food here is not...
Read moreI recently had the opportunity to dine at a restaurant that left an indelible mark on my taste buds, and unfortunately, it was not a positive one. The overall experience was marred by the subpar quality of the food. From the lettuce to the shrimp, everything seemed to be plagued by an undeniable lack of freshness and poor preparation. However, I would like to commend our server, Terrie, for her exceptional service and efforts to rectify the situation.
To start, the lettuce in the salads was far from fresh. It was wilted and lacked the crispness that one would expect from a quality establishment. It was a disappointing way to begin the meal, and unfortunately, it set the tone for the rest of the experience.
Moving on to the shrimp, it was evident that they were not cooked properly. They were overly chewy and lacked flavor. It was as if they had been sitting out for far too long before being served. The disappointment continued to mount as we realized that the kitchen had not paid adequate attention to the crucial aspects of cooking and seasoning.
Now, let's address the queso. The picture speaks for itself. The appearance alone was unappetizing, with a thick, clumpy texture that was far from inviting. It seemed as though the cheese had been sitting out for an extended period, resulting in an unappetizing and unpalatable mess. It was truly disheartening to see such a fundamental dish fall so short of expectations.
Despite the unfortunate quality of the food, Terrie, our server, deserves recognition for her outstanding customer service. She was attentive, friendly, and genuinely concerned about our experience. When we expressed our dissatisfaction with the food, she promptly took action and removed all charges from our bill. Terrie's efforts to rectify the situation were commendable, and her dedication to ensuring our satisfaction was evident.
While I appreciate Terrie's exceptional service, the overall experience at this restaurant was disappointing. The lackluster quality of the food overshadowed any positive aspects of the dining experience. Although the server went above and beyond to make amends, it is unlikely that I would consider returning to this establishment in the future.
In conclusion, the restaurant failed to impress due to the poor quality of its offerings. Despite the commendable efforts of our server, Terrie, to rectify the situation, the disappointing food left a lasting impression. It is regrettable to report that this is not a place I would recommend for a satisfying...
