I wouldn’t go if you’re on a time constraint. I went here today on my lunch break and left without eating bc my food never came out.
I sat at the bar and ordered wings and a water and nothing else at around 5:05-5:10. After about 20 minutes, I stopped a server who looked like he was in training and asked him, “Hey, do you think you could check on my wings for me? It’s been maybe 20-30 minutes.” He comes back out and tells me that the bartender is back there waiting on them. The time was about 5:30. I sat and waited until 5:40 and the wings still hadn’t been sent out yet. I couldn’t wait even a minute longer because I needed to make it back in time.
I went back to work and complained to my co-workers about what happened and how I didn’t get to eat. One co-worker said, “Yeah I went there on a date and it took over an hour for my burger to come out. And she ordered a salad which came out really fast and we sat there most of the date awkwardly staring at each other”. A different co-worker said, “co-worker 2 and I stopped going there on our breaks bc they’ve done that to us a couple of times”.
I decided that I was going to call in after I was off to let a manager know what had happened. Apparently it was the kitchen manager who I spoke to and he asked me if I had the right Dave & Busters bc he didn’t have any long ticket times or complaints today. I said, “this is the one downtown?” And he said yes… I explained the whole story to him and broke it down by the time. He put me on hold and came back on the phone and said the wings were still at the bar, and the POS was showing that the ticket time for that ticket was only 15 minutes. So since I didn’t pay for anything he’s not sure what I want him to do. I asked him what he meant by the wings are at the bar? This incident happened 2-3 hours before my call. I also told him, “I received a phone call from someone in jail at 5:03, those calls cut off after 15 minutes and I ordered my food while on this phone call. The time that I walked out was 5:40, and I let the bartender know, if the food isn’t ready yet, I have to go, I need to get back to work”. They weren’t ready so I left. I told him to look at the cameras and he’d see the time that I walked in and ordered, you’ll be able to see that I stopped the server, and that I left at 5:40. I asked him what time the order was put in, and he said he would have to open the ticket back up to be able to see that but that he didn’t know, all he knew was that it didn’t take 40 mins for the wings to come out.
All in all, not only am I disappointed with how bad the service was when I was there, but also with how it was handled and how they tried to gaslight me by saying it didn’t take long for the wings to come out. Absolutely NO effort to make it right was made, other than, “if you come in now, I can make sure the wings come out.” I was there earlier this week to have wings, enjoyed them, saw how it was dead in there for a Friday night, which played into my decision on where I was going to get wings from today. As a service industry worker I would like to help other service industry workers. Instead of becoming a regular, I won’t be...
Read moreI’m retired military veteran! We had 2 American smasher burgers with 3 $5 appetizers for 3 adults and a child to watch the Dallas/Cleveland game @ about 3:50 pm. I came in early while the other family members and friends were touring Legoland for the 4-year-old Birthday party. The server was very unattended to my needs and didn't care! No silverware or napkins were brought to the table with the food or appetizers. When asked she said let me see if I can find silverware with a large napkin to put in my lap she failed to provide it and said they may not have any left. As I looked around there were several tables with silverware on them. Overcharged me by applying what appeared to be a homeless person I shared the table with while consuming my appetizer $5 (Nacho chicken dish) and waiting on the other adults and child. The waitress shoved the nacho plate on the table and left with no napkins at all. When I immediately tasted the stadium nachos the temperature was warm. 10mins later my other 3 guesses arrived we moved to another table. The fries portion that eventually came later with the burgers was very small for the price.$15.49. The Cheese fries for the other adult were cold and sent them back they brought back just regular fries that looked like they were old fries dropped back in the fryer overly brown not like the others fresh she refused to eat them because of the taste and look! Come on D/B Everyone knows anything about eating out and food service knows old fries from fresh fries. It just got worse after consuming my chicken Nacho cheese appetizer I was sick with stomach cramps and diarrhea for the next 2-4 days. I had the foul taste of the overly salted nacho cheese for 24 hrs after consumption. After I commented to the staff waitress and maybe the Chef/Cook, or manager approached me and asked me what was the problem. I explained several issues he removed one of the $5 charges. After reviewing the receipt and seeing the $56.07 bill I knew something was wrong. She added the I assume the homeless person to my check that we left hours ago while watching the completion of the game. I tipped the waitress 18% of the bill $8.74 she deserved much less after failing to provide napkins and eating utensils at the table even after being asked! She only brought back small drink napkins that you put your beverages on. Wasn't trained properly on waiting tables or just didn't care. She should be reprimanded for failure to comply with the customers needs. and sent to wash dishes! Maybe she was having an irritated bad day. But I was very cordial the whole time. Terrible experience here I've been to other Dave and Busters on 410 N by the Mall and once worked as a food service inspector for a multi-million dollar organization. I noted that it was numerous servers working literally bumping into each other for the amount of tables and people there. I get it Everyone wants the easy job with tips maybe they should go into the kitchen and help...
Read moreThis place has gone down hill and if I could give ZERO stars i would. I went in for a quick lunch and sat at the bar. This is at 12:30 on a Tuesday and the bar looked like it was the end of a busy Friday with bar glasses, bottles, and old ketchup and mustard bottles thrown haphazardly to the side. There was an awful smell of stinky sugar and juice of an uncleaned bar, i should have run at that first glance. The bar tender had ZERO personality and was trying to make drinks for the service bar and help the guests at the bar. She ignored me for 10 minutes, took my drink order and gave me the QR reader placard for the menu and walked away. 10 more minutes pass and then she takes my order. My food was absolutely gross. I got their new Fish and Chips ( they looked great on the big TV promo ). The fries were barely warm, but the fish was hot and looked great. Until i took a bite, the smell and taste of old oil as it was saturated in oil on the bottom. I could only eat half and it sat in my stomach like a brick. My amazing (sarcastic) bartender took my card and left the pen for me to sign the slip. Not even noticing only half the food was left and could care less on why my food was not eaten or a to-go box was not requested. I worked at the first D&B in San Antonio and opened the store in 1999. Then we cared about the guest and the food was praised. Now the place is a glorified Chuck E Cheese with even worse food. This has sealed the deal and I unfortunately will never return to a D&B again. RIP D&B, my long lost friend.
So i spend $25 on an over priced lunch, and D&B thinks that sending me a $10 gift card will make it all better. What incentive is there for me to return and with only a $10 gift card. Thanks but no thanks… The soda with mu lunch was $3.50…. for a damn soda. Gauge prices and...
