So about a month ago I wrote a review about the impeccable customer service of the manager there at this location however I did not know the manager's name at the time so I planned on editing the review later but I found it very difficult to do so for some reason so I would like to just add another one I guess & say that the manager's name is Lance. The incredible asset that Jim's restaurant has come across makes this particular location A cut above the rest by far. When it counts & you want great service that goes above & beyond I recommend this place five stars all the way around. Somebody was smart when they put Lance in a management position if I owned that company I'd be given that man a raise because when an extension to the normal customer service allows someone to start to believe that things will get better & it helps encourage & inspire the hopeless. That's when you know you got something special & more than just average. People just don't understand what one act of kindness can do these days but it can save lives it does save lives & most the time it goes unnoticed or unrecognized but not today. Because of one act of kindness & words of encouragement understanding without a inkling of judgment allowed my wife to find Hope where honestly there was none. I made sure to come back and speak on the manager by name because he should be recognized for the example that everyone should mimic. Who knew a stranger in a restaurant can make such an impact after tragedy & did it without even knowing how desperately it was needed. You couple that with damn good food & you got a combination for healing right there! The location is perfect too it's right off the freeway you can hop off get some great food get back on finish going where you're going.. I pray that blessings come your way financially in abundance & expediently too because it's deserved. Thanks again Lance! Forever grateful The...
Read more5-Stars!!! Our first venture to Jim's restaurant (Broadway & I410) left us thoroughly impressed, and it's easy to see why San Antonians consider it a local gem. This iconic diner, with its widespread presence across San Antonio, is celebrated for its straightforward yet delectable diner fare. We owe a debt of gratitude to our friends, native San Antonians, for introducing us to this culinary treasure.
The coffee was quintessentially diner-style: robust, good, and served piping hot. Our waitress was the epitome of hospitality, exuding kindness and patience. The ambiance of Jim's, what I'd describe as 'diner quaint,' was utterly charming and contributed significantly to our experience.
Our group's order was a delightful array of classic diner breakfasts, including the Chicken Fried Steak Breakfast with hash browns, perfectly cooked over medium eggs, and English muffins; several plates of Huevos Rancheros & Sausage complemented with biscuits and tortillas; uncomplicated yet satisfying eggs and bacon; and a scrumptious Ham and Cheese Omelet. Each dish was a testament to the authentic diner experience – perfectly prepared, served hot, and utterly delicious. The over-medium eggs, a particular highlight for me, were flawlessly executed, which is a rarity and highly appreciated.
In summary, Jim's earns a well-deserved 5-star rating from us. It epitomizes the essence of a classic diner with its excellent service and exceptional food. We arrived with hearty appetites and left completely stuffed and satisfied. San Antonio is indeed lucky to have such a staple, and we can't...
Read moreTl:dr one great and one bad waitress, fokd was good except one dish. Overall enough to not return to this location. This particular experience wasn't very good. They were incredibly busy (which is fine mind you), but then in order to seat us they seperated our tables. I'd rather wait to be seated as a group, (to be fair we could've waited to be sat as a group this time) but the problem with this was, the waitress for our table, acted like she was disgusted with her day and would've rather been anywhere else. (I get we all have bad days but she was unpleasant the whole stay.) The waitress that got my kids table was a sweet cheerful lady who was the most patient thing in the world and did nothing but smile and chat with them. Our waitress took our drinks and forgot about us, kids waitress brought their drinks, took their food order and continued refreshing them..... Meanwhile, I had to stop my waitress and ask what was going on. I was genuinely confused as to who our waitress was, maybe they had switched. Well, the sweet lady took care of us after this but transferred the ticket to the unpleasant girl. (which meant our tip went to her and not the sweet lady). Everything was great after that except my wifes dish (chicken fried chicken), when you bit into it, it had that texture as if it was undercooked, but it wasn't. Still, if you've ever bit into undercooked chicken before it's enough to put you off the whole meal. Which it did. In the end, we tipped the unpleasant girl, hopefully her day got better, and made sure to tip the sweet...
