Second McDonalds ive been to after the last ones (8107 Loop 1604) regularly problematic card reader down system down cash only closed nightly routine of take your money through the app but give you no food because theres usually always some type of issue with their system when you get there. No indication there are any issues prior to arriving though. And the show continues here at Culebra. App and Google says open 24 HOURS but apparently theres a NIGHTLY system update rendering these McDonalds NMC for hours??? NON MISSION CAPABLE for hours nightly???????? Im watching car after car get turned away. This is FALSE ADVERTISEMENT if i ever did see and experience it. I proceed to place my vehicle in park at the drive through speaker only to be told i cant block the drive through. I dont know what type of leadership- no leadership runs these McDonalds locations in the evening but how is it that other McDonalds manage to continue running smoothly throughout the evening such as the one (in my experience) on Zarzamora? If anything, these late night employees need a pay cut if all they gotta do is sit around waiting for a system update nightly. And corporate needs to streamline the app so that updates, availability, closures, issues, shortages etc, reflect instantly by location so that we are not out here experiencing failed advertisement first hand time after time and location after location. The app also ties up the order and funds in the meantime so if you do happen to finally find an honorable location open and fully functional as advertised, it will likely say you already have an order in progress which is also a lie. Nothing is in progress. And now you cant receive discounts through the app either. Theyve taken your time, your money, your discounts, your hopes and dreams. Thank you McDonalds for these golden sho...
Read moreI asked for one meal. The Angel Reese meal. nothing special. the order was even repeated back to me. i got to the window paid with my card and declined my receipt because once again, its inly one meal. got home to realize they charged me for TWO Burgers with extra onions, and a large fry. Now I asked myself why would he repeat the correct order and charge me for something completely different? So I call and ask to speak to a manager. someone came to the phone and was very short in response and told me to comeback for a refund but it wasn't going to be on my card 3-5 days. I said okay so thats all i need to do? don't I need a name? a reference number, something? she then asked for my name. i gave her my name and asked for hers. She then misgendered me. Im obviously a woman, very built like a woman and birthed three kids a talk in a Soprano tone so why she called me sir is beyond me. When i finally make it back to the establishment, I was asked for the food back. Now because I know how the protocol was, I saved the food but remember, Stephanie never asked for the food back and didn't even give me proper instructions for the return of food. That experience made me question what the point of taking orders if you are going to still give the customer whatever you feel like giving them? They tried to act like I was lying when in fact there are cameras everywhere also misgendering someone who is clearly a God born woman is ridiculous and disrespectful which is the real reasons why I...
Read moreI know it is a risk special ordering food, but I am amazed when the food item has a big sticker on it saying "No Cheese" and then you get home and there is cheese on it... Then, I spent half of my lunch hour driving back to the store and they just replaced the item. No cookies or any offer for my trouble.... Luckily they only mess up about 10% of the time.
Update: Downgraded to 2 stars.
Last week of June 2017: Ordered two meals with sweet tea. Both teas tasted like coffee sweet tea. Disgusting. Unfortunately, since it was a To Go order, I didn't find that out until I got home... So they both went straight into the trash.
1 Jul 17: I actually chose to come to this McDonalds instead of the Whataburger across the street because of the sweet tea. I didn't get my fix earlier in the week because of the coffee sweet tea. First off, there was no ice in the ice dispenser so I had to ask for them to fill my cups from the back. Then, there was no tea (sweet or unsweet) at all, anywhere in the restaurant. If I would have been told there was no sweet tea when I ordered, I could have cancelled the order and gone to Whataburger. They got my money this time... Not sure how long before we come back.
I actually like McDonalds sweet tea the best (better than Chick-Fil-A and Bill Millers), but these last two incidents are going to make me think twice before...
