I visited Revolucion Coffee in downtown San Antonio on an early morning, hoping for a good start to the day, but unfortunately, the experience fell short. The coffee and food were both below average—neither had much flavor, and the quality just didn’t match up to what I’d expect from a local coffee spot.
The service was disappointing as well. It felt like the staff didn’t really care that I was there; there was no greeting, no enthusiasm, and minimal interaction. It made the experience feel impersonal and a bit awkward.
The atmosphere was also lacking. I was expecting a cozy, welcoming vibe, especially in the heart of downtown San Antonio, but instead, the place felt empty and dull, with no energy or ambiance to liven it up. There was hardly any music or decor to give it character, which made the space feel lifeless.
Overall, Revolucion Coffee didn’t live up to my expectations. The combination of lackluster food, indifferent service, and a dead atmosphere made it a one-time visit for me. There are likely better spots in the area if you’re looking for a memorable coffee experience in...
Read moreI was in San Antonio attending a work conference. I made a point to start my mornings at local coffee shops, and Revolución was a quick walk from the Element San Antonio Riverwalk. Revolución serves responsibly curated coffee roasted in-house. Its scratch kitchen produces and features a scratch kitchen producing plant-based and locally sourced food (tacos, tamales, oats, toasts) and juices.
Revolución has three locations in San Antonio and one in Austin. The downtown location is located at the corner of Navarro and E Houston and is transit-assessible via the 4 Bus. The cafe has a minimalist, modern design with limited indoor and sidewalk seating.
I ordered a cortado, the Revolución Street Taco (blue corn tortilla with jackfruit with pibil sauce), Poblano Cheese Tamale, and Immunity Boost Shot (maple syrup, lemon juice, filtered water, cayenne, oregano).
The coffee was great, and the immunity boost shot hit the spot. The tamale was solid, but I preferred the street taco. I look forward to trying the Revolución Latte (honey, lavender) and breakfast tacos during...
Read moreCame in because it was close to where I was staying not expecting much, but just wanting something fast. I was soooo surprised with the food. I got a spinach tortilla turkey chorizo taco that tasted like a perfect dream. Not only was this taco healthier but also tastier than almost any other taco I’ve ever had. The salsa was crazy!!! So much flavor even without the kick. I usually prefer hotter salsas (I dabble with ghost peppers and Carolina reapers) but these salsas had enough flavor that they didn’t need as much heat as I’m used to. I usually prefer the green but here I have to say that the red was better. Their other tacos were good too and the burrito my wife got kept they’re flavorful streak going. The breakfast tacos were a good size and after tasting them they are a great bang for your buck. If you’re ever in the area do yourself a favor and...
