Some friends and I came here for dinner prior to attending a show near the Riverwalk. We figured we couldn't go wrong with a restaurant on the Riverwalk, right? Wrong! Worst experience ever. We sat inside because they weren't able to sit 7 people outside. The original waiter didn't greet us and immediately asked what we wanted to order. She was not friendly and rushed us to order, she seemed like she was having a bad day. She got our orders wrong and the manager who brought them to us, was just as confused as we were because what two of my friends ordered, didn't even appear on the order ticket. Food came & was sooooo bad! Two people in our party got a entree with shreddedd chicken and said it tasted like canned chicken. No one liked their food. We ordered margaritas as well and they were all syrup. We kept our cool and didn't want it to ruin our night so we politely asked for the check so we could find another place to get drinks before the show started. The waiter took 20+ minutes to come back and when she did, she had a note pad to write down for a 2nd time what we had ordered so she could draw up our bills. No explanation. It wasn't until a 2nd and 3rd waiter/manager had to come back to the table to do the same thing, that we became extremely frustrated. The last person to come to the table was the only person to give an explanation of why we were being asked multiple times what we ordered. Apparently the system went down but the original waiter said nothing. She also had items on the bill no one at the table ordered or received. The manager, who was the 3rd person to come to the table was much nicer and finally got us our checks after 30+ minutes. Unfortunately we weren't able to get drinks at another place because it took so long and we almost missed the beginning of our show. Super awful experience, poor customer service, bad food and drinks. All around bad & needless to say, we won't be back. Unfortunately some places on the Riverwalk know that its a tourist attraction and new people will come everyday so they don't take pride in their Customer service and food..sad to say this is one of...
Read moreBefore I say what was wrong let me say this first. Their tortillas were awesome. Ok. We went there at 10 am for breakfast, we sat outside so we could take in the view of the Riverwalk. We both ordered our drinks and they brought them right away. We also ordered our food at the same time. We waited and waited might I also add we were the only customers outside after another couple had left shortly after we arrived. After 30 minutes I asked our waitress what was taking so long. She said the cook didn't show up and the manager had to do the cooking. She was apologetic and said she would bring us some chips and salsa for our wait. I explained to her that we had an appointment at 11:15 a.m. And we will be forced to leave soon. She said please don't leave. We said ok we will try and wait. Another 10-15 minutes later the food arives finally. My husband asked for a fresh apple juice because the ice had melted and watered the juice down. A man brought him a glass of ice with a new apple juice and took the other juice away that he didn't even have one sip. We start eating and after a couple of bites I noticed that My eggs were RAW !! I'm grossed out and stop eating. The waitress comes back and I show her the eggs and she sees them and immediately says sorry. She offers to make my order over. By this time Im done I ask her to take my plate please and can we get the check. She says she will not charge me for my plate I say ok thank you. We get the check and they charge my husband for a refill on his apple juice he never even drank. We paid and left. Just our experience may not be the same for you. But I thought RAW EGGS...
Read moreCame from Houston and it was our first time visiting the Riverwalk. We got hungry and decided to dine in this restaurant. They have a small menu and I'm glad they do. The truth is the food is not that good. I had the beef enchiladas with rice, beans and a taco on the side. Everything on my plate needed seasoning! It was just plain nasty! The taco was dripping lots of grease. I think my food was food from the day before and heated in the microwave. The chips were stale and they automatically charge you 99 cents for chips. When we got the bill they automatically charge themselves a $10 tip. Before we left I went to the restroom and as soon as you walk in it smells like mildew, it's not a pleasant smell. The restroom had pieces of toilet paper on the floor, the sink was dirty and I found a dam dead roach on the floor! So it made me wonder with the river and all these restaurants along the side, I wonder how many of these restaurants have roaches because of the moisture of the river? The people cooking and working in this restaurant and the owner, Clean the restaurant and taste the food before serving it. Or go to different restaurants and taste their rice, their beans. Experiment with different seasonings so you can make your food better. I plan on visiting again but this is one restaurant I will cross off my list. Will not be coming back here. Sorry not sorry.. and I did take a picture of the dead roach on the...
