Assenti's Pasta — Restaurant in San Diego

Assenti's quality is a notch or several notches above most of the other Italian markets in Little Italy. We previously shopped at several of the other popular markets in the area, and we tried Assenti's because our regular market was out of Mortadella. We found that the quality at Assenti's was outstanding and far better than our regular market. We have enjoyed getting to know them and can not say enough good things. They have made us feel like family every time we shop, and we continue to be surprised with how they make the simple things so great. Husband was craving ravioli but didn't want to go out. I stopped by this adorable shop on the way home from work; parked about 1/2 block away. I grabbed a package of beef and spinach ravioli from the freezer for about $10, and 3 big housemade Italian sausages for like $7. They had lots of beautiful, freshly made pastas on display. It was hard not to buy a little bit of everything! I served the ravioli and Italian sausage with a little marinara sauce, and my family RAVED. The texture of the pasta was firm and silky. Don’t walk, run to this place! I’m a local here and it was my first time today to get some fresh pasta. Honestly, I just finished cooking and wanted send my love to this place. Once I opened up the package it smelled so fresh. The smell literally took me back to my hometown. How I miss this smell of fresh pasta. We got fresh fettuccine and it is amazingly melting in your mouth! They have various flavors too. You know what, I’m no longer buying package pastas since there is a fresh pasta gem like this place!
