I came here awhile back and had an awful (and that’s being generous because I’m still nearly brought to tears over it to this day) experience with one of the servers and managers. The day/time I went the place was nearly empty, and I took a seat while my husband ordered for us. I’d been here before, many times, and understand you’re supposed to order before you sit. However, I have a blood disorder that leads me to pass out, which I felt coming on when I got there. Earlier that same day I got a call from my doctor that they believed I had blood cancer, if that tells you how bad I was feeling both physically and mentally.
A server came up to me and extremely aggressively told me to get up. Would not let me even explain my reason for sitting down (in a nearly EMPTY patio by the way). She walked away and a few minutes later looped back and got close to me and stared at me with a disgusted look on her face like I was a child she was disciplining or trying to intimidate. I tried again to explain to her that I felt like I was going to faint and she essentially responded with “yeah right” and “get up” before walking away again. With everything going on I started to cry, went and got my husband, and a manager stopped me on our way out, seeing how upset I was.
That manager, I think her name was Jamie? Didn’t really care. She apologized and said she would talk to the girl that treated me that way, but that’s about it. Meanwhile the server was standing feet away with an entitled look on her face like she knew she wouldn’t face any repercussions for her actions. Being in tears and having to explain myself for this was embarrassing. It should have never gotten to that point.
The food here is fine. You can find equal or better elsewhere. But accessibility for your customers who medically need it is important. And empathy goes a long way. It’s been a good chunk of time and this experience still and will probably always be the worst I’ve ever had. I won’t go back and after this neither have any of my friends, family, or coworkers who I’ve shared this...
Read moreThe 4.6 rating grabbed me. The availability of raw oysters grabbed me. The location grabbed me. Once oir food was delivered I was let go.
We ordered a dozen raw oysters. These had to be farm raised. Small and the flavor was bitter. Usually some horserqdish and some cocktail sauce can help any oyster but not these guys.
Our salmon burger was completely tasteless. The bread was spongy and a perfect texture but there was just ZERO flavor in this burger. We added some salt and pepper at the table and that helped some.
The fish and chips was exactly that. One piece of fish, although large, only one piece. The chips were your standard waffle fries and were what you would expect from a waffle fry. The fish was AGAIN flavorless. No fish flavor, no nothing. There was three of us and we passed each dish around trying everything and we all agreed the food was a complete let down.
The girl at the cash register was awesome and had a friendly cool vibe and we enjoyed chatting and placing our order.
We sat in the semi enclosed area with heating lamps. A chill atmosphere after being out in the sun all day and being on the beach. We definitely enjoyed this area alot and if we were having a drink would have enjoyed it even more.
We ditched our orginal food place that we had picked out so that we could get oysters. That turned out to be a bad idea. Unfortunately this place let us down. Based on the ratings they seem to have great food, but we just showed up on an off night...
Read moreWent here on a whim, wish we hadn't. The food was so bland and dry. The customer service was even worse. We asked to send back the fish because it was atrocious and we didn't even eat it. The "manager" came over not introducing herself or anything, just said "what's wrong with is?". We informed her of the lack of flavor and the Wahoo was dry. She said "So what do you want? A refund?" Very passive aggressively. My husband was nothing but nice to her so I'm not sure why she was in such a bad mood. In the end, she came back and said "we are only doing this once for you because once the food touches the table, we aren't allowed to take it back" which is a dumb policy so make sure y'all like the food before ordering. She then proceeds to give us our receipt and say "the way our machine works it won't let us refund the tip so we're keeping the $2" and walked away. My husband and I ALWAYS see how the service of a place is before leaving a big tip it's a simple rule good service = good tip. Why would we reward awful service? And to top it off, it's not even a full service sit down restaurant so there wasn't any "service" that needed a tip. You order your food and pay at a register and sit down after. On the way out I asked what the name of the manager was to a different server and she said “Rose or Jordan”, so I'm not sure who we dealt with but she needs to be trained properly on customer service, you can tell she's...
