This taco shop was right across the way from where we were staying. They have a constant flow of traffic and figured we would check it out. The food online looked really good. we ordered a ton of tacos for us to taste and see which ones were our favorite. There is some patio seating and a few tables inside, so we got ours to go since seating was so limited. We ordered the filling tacos: quesabirria, Papa's con Rajas, Camaron de enchilado, Scallop dreams, Surf amd turf, borrego, carne asada, and the crunch time shrimp taco between all of our trips. And an order of Churros. All of the c Tacos came with quite a bit of filling, but nothing fancy for tacos. My favorite was the surf and turf. We really enjoyed the salsa bar and getting some bigger bottles of beer to enjoy with our meal. The staff were super friendly and patient, not only with us but also in line. Our least favorite was the Papa's con Rajas. We ended up tossing it. The kids enjoyed the churros and dipping sauce. The taco of the month is always changing and an interesting way to try something different. This is a place to check out for filling food. I'd suggest ordered online to plan ahead and to get some free stuff, too.

Food was delicious and fresh. The employee immediately sat us down at a very clean table. Spotless. It was only like a minute after we arrived that the appetizers came, and maybe 30 seconds after our food came. And somehow they had a gorgeous presentation, and still tasted like heaven. Chicken tacos were great. They had onion, tomato, guacamole, and perfectly grilled Chicken to balance it out. Sd Carne asada was very good. The meat surprisingly wasn’t too different to a normal carne asada. Terrisa pineapple was quite unique. I never thought that a fruity food like pineapple would pair so well with a savory meat. Pescaso taco was the perfect consistency, and just melted in our mouths. The shrimp crunch taco was our personal favorite. It was loaded with meat and had a variety of greens, it even had an edible flower! The service was amazing, and the food was perfect as well. Make sure to stop by if you want some amazing tacos.

Okay, let me start by saying, I am a foodie and I have to say, RUN don’t walk and get these tacos. I was absolutely blown away by this little taqueria on Mission St. There are countless places to choose from along this busy street in this touristy area but City Tacos is a diamond among gemstones. We ordered the surf and turf tacos, the steak taco, shrimp taco, quesabirria taco, pescado taco… and my surprising favorite… the Portobello taco. (Middle taco) First, for the price, the taco sizes are substantial which is always an added bonus. I loved the flavor combinations in everything, but the portobello mushroom taco was smoky, umami, sweet, creamy and savory all in one perfect bite. I loved the surprising addition of the arugula which brought everything together in a magical way! The salsa bar is also fire!!!
