I haven't been here in almost a decade when the belly dancers would perform. Not sure if they still do. I arrived on a Saturday around 5ish. Seating was immediate. You know what was also immediate? The owner came to my table to greet me and ask me about my day. Interestingly, she did that for all the tables. I am mostly impressed with how the beautiful tropical plants inside the restaurant, alongside the street side block the eyesore of traffic. And no gnats!
The inside tables have white table cloth coverings while the patio/inside have wood tables with no cloths. I ordered the chicken grilled kebab dinner plate. There are choices of chicken like broiled, grilled, and boiled. Anyhoot, the cool feature is the plating of the kebab without the stick. Yum. And the plating is so appealing that even the waitress was taking pics of the food. Ha!

Read moreGeorgia’s Greek Cuisine is a down to earth and truly old Mediterranean style restaurant with amazing dishes. If you’re looking for the ‘just like home’ feel then this is the restaurant for you. The restroom is through the kitchen, just like the old days. It just made my day to walk through all the cooks and dishes like so many European places I’ve been to in the past. It’s not for everyone, especially people not used to the old country ways. The owners are working hard with their employees, and have their little table on the side for their Greek coffee breaks. Our waitress was Anna and she was so attentive; this was one of the very few restaurants that don’t throw the check at you on your last bite, which is true Mediterranean style, the importance of enjoying your meal with family and friends.
The Fried Squid as an appetizer was the best I’ve had in a very long time without traveling out of the country for dinner. For the main meal, I had the Spanakopita in its true Greek flavor. The Tzatziki, or better known as cucumber yogurt is the best yet in SD. It was my first visit to Georgia’s Greek Cuisine and they’ve been there since 1977, but it definitely won’t be my last! I wonder if they’ll let me buy their Tzatziki by the gallon? Soooooo good! It’s in a strip mall with plenty of parking and if you’ll send a photo through Yelp via check in, you’ll get a 10 % off coupon to use immediately or on your next...
Read moreYikes. I feel so bad writing a bad review because the staff, including whom appeared to be the owners, was very nice. But, I seriously had to ask the waitress if the food was fresh; I have never had green beans from a restaurant that, on my 1st bite, tasted as if they came straight out of a can. The chicken kebob was also so dry. The beef filled dolmades were kind of disgusting bc the beef tasted sour....just odd. I wrapped it up bc I don't want food to go to waste. I imagine I can throw it in my self-preparrd salad tomorrow in effort to mask some of the bad/non-existent and dry flavor. The waitress said it was cooked on the daily, but maybe that is subjective.
I will say it was very nice that the server offered to do a side dish of the beef dolmades as she saw I wanted that too, but I had already ordered an entree. The side accompanying my chicken was supposed to be potatoes, but it was rice. I informed her just to acknowledge it. No big deal, I ended up eating the rice which could have had more flavor. Anyways, it would have been nice if they had taken 2$ off for their error...on their own, without me saying anything. But, that's okay. Nice people. But, also- I don't like how the bathroom is in their kitchen . Lol I am sure other guests will still eat here, but I just can't believe how subpar their food is espeically with being in a city...
