We had a very disappointing experience at Tandoori Guys in San Diego. It's disheartening to be not only were you treated rudely, but also seemed to be a clear discrepancy in how different customers were treated. Despite being one of the families dining there, it appeared that the staff were friendlier and more accommodating to other customers, particularly those who may have had a connection to the owners.
The restaurant's limited seating and small size may have contributed to the sense of exclusivity, but that does not excuse the discriminatory treatment we received. It's unacceptable that we were served on small paper plates while others were given proper silverware, when confronted the front desk they cited excuses like a broken dishwasher and being short-staffed.
What's even more concerning is that when we confronted them about this discrimination, they failed to provide satisfactory explanations and instead offered excuses that made no sense. Discrimination has no place in any establishment, and it's disappointing to hear that Tandoori Guys failed to address this issue appropriately. Our experience highlights the importance of fair and equal treatment for all customers, regardless of background or perceived...
Read moreTandoori Guys is a decent spot for Indian food, especially if you’re near Sea World and looking for a quick to-go meal. It’s tucked away in a spot that’s easy to miss—especially at night, when the signage isn’t super visible. Make sure to double-check your GPS, or you might miss the turn altogether.
This place seems to be more focused on takeout orders, so don’t expect a great dine-in experience with a lot of ambiance. It wasn’t too busy when we went, which was nice for a quick bite, but it also felt a bit rushed—the manager took our menu card the second we finished ordering, which felt a little hurried.
Prices are slightly on the higher side, and a small heads-up—they don’t automatically serve onions, lemon, or pickle, which you usually expect with Indian food. You’ll need to order those separately.
The food itself was good, no major complaints there, but the menu could use some updating, especially when it comes to vegetarian options. Not a ton of variety if you're not eating meat.
Overall, it's a convenient spot for a quick Indian meal, especially for takeout near Sea World, but there’s definitely room for improvement in service and...
Read moreI’ve been a regular at Tandoori Guys – Point Loma location, visiting at least once a week. However, I’m writing this review to share a very disappointing experience. I usually order the lunch special, which used to cost around $9 but is now $15 (including taxes). The meal includes one veg/non-veg entrée, rice, salad, and a half portion of naan.
While I understand that prices have gone up due to inflation and other factors, what was most disappointing was the drastic reduction in portion size. In the past, the chicken curry typically came with 6–7 pieces of chicken. On my recent visit, it had only 3 pieces—barely enough to make it a full meal.
I’m all for supporting local businesses and understand the challenges they face, but I hope they reconsider the portion sizes to better reflect the price being charged. I do not have any negative comments regarding the taste and flavor...
