As a former STEADY patron of its first generation (TBS Tavern), I had been waiting patiently for these doors to open. For 4 straight solid years the tavern was my honey hole, and for better or worse… it was the dream dive/cheers type of establishment. Needless too say Harvey’s has hit every mark I needed, while adding it’s own new extra flare, assuring former patrons like myself and newcomers alike keep that door bell buzzzing. Breakfast is a new chapter in their book, but their OG sandwich serves every need you can think of to start your day; quick, easy, and tasty. For lunch, if you don’t like sea food that’s your own issue, but If you do, the firecracker shrimp tacos are BANGING. Come the main course (with more dishes soon to come) there’s no other choice as simple as the smash burger. I’ve personally circled the city with the manager on a quest to find the best smash, and I can confidently say, AJ took notes while doing so. It may have taken a bit longer than anyone wanted or planned, but Harvey’s is damn sure worth the wait.

the peach mule was an absolute highlight!!!! refreshing, well-balanced, and the perfect drink to start the night. and the catfish royal? easily one of the best dishes i’ve had in a long time. the flavors were rich, the fish was cooked to perfection, and every bite was just as good as the last.

Read moreHarvey's is located at the Promenade at Rio Vista in Mission Valley. The pub is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I had the breakfast sandwich for $11.95. It came with eggs to order, slices of bacon, a crispy hash brown patty, cheddar cheese, on a toasted brioche bun. It is served with a side of house dynamite sauce.
The breakfast sandwich was very good. The eggs were very well prepared and seasoned well. The bacon was good and crispy, but one more sliced layered side by side would allow that bacon to shine with every bite. The sauce that came on the side was very tasty and offered a very mild heat.
The platting was simple. I think they should add a little cup of fresh fruit on the side, but that is just me. The service was very good. There's a good amount of inside seating and a lot of...
