It was my last day in San Diego and was trying to find a good spot for a Cali Burrito. I was looking up at a bunch of spots and lists and somehow Mike’s never came up. I came upon it by accident because we were by the beach and it looked promising.
We ordered a octopus taco, two steak tacos, and a steak & shrimp Cali burrito with two cokes came out to 40 bucks. I initially thought that was pricey but I was willing to wait to see if it was worth it.
It definitely is 100% worth it. First off let me start off with saying ask for extra cups of the orange and green salsa they make.
The octopus taco from the first bite just hit perfectly. It was such an amazing bite from the beginning all the way to end. The octopus was cooked perfectly and was not chewy like some places Can mess up easily.
The shrimp and steak Cali burrito was equally amazing. Super fat and loaded, it was exactly what I was craving. All the flavors just meld and gets better as you get to the bottom end of the burrito.
My wife had the steak tacos. She usually likes her tacos as plain as possible. These tacos come with avocado, cabbage, tomatoes and onions. This is basically the opposite of what she likes and she loved it so much. Her taco was also stuffed with meat.
This place really doesn’t skimp on the servings and their protein. This is definitely gonna be a spot I come to back again and again. It’s right by the shore, the people coming in and walking adds to the coolness of the spot. They’re located right under a tattoo shop and was playing great music all the whole time. This place was definitely a vibe with equally amazing food. Come...

parking: if you’ve been to ocean beach, you know parking can be an absolute nightmare. whether you get lucky to get a spot close by or have to walk a couple blocks, i promise it is worth it!

Read moreThis taco shop didn’t disappoint.
We ordered our food online for pick up, but we ate at the shop in their shaded, out-door seating. The online app allowed us to customize our burritos to omit cheese since our kids have a dairy intolerance.
The burritos are large. Almost the size of a 12 inch subway sandwich.
The bean and cheese burritos were enough to feed our kids (ages 9, 7, 4) with enough to spare.
My husband and I split a Steak N’ Shrimp burrito. We also each ordered a separate taco (Octopus taco and Northern Tijuana taco) because we thought we’d need it the extra food. The half of the burrito was enough and the extra taco was a bit much.
Nevertheless the tacos and burritos were delicious. The octopus taco was mild and shrimpy in flavor. The burritosAnd taco were delicious. The burritos had a nice balance of flavor and texture ( the potato was a present surprise) As far as I could tell the tortillas were authentic (this is important too me since I grew up eating homemade tortillas in south Texas).
The taco shop provided a variety of sauces for us in the to-go bag.
I also love that you can see the Pacific Ocean from this shop and walk over in literally 2 mins to the beach.
You definitely should come here to eat any...
